What is Feng Shui?

N ote that both natural elements have two things in common: flow and circulation. Both are essential for the survival of human beings. In fact, living beings are chiefly composed of both elements. Furthermore, the combined features of wind and water regulate climate which, in turn, influences our lifestyle.

Chi or life force is directly carried by both wind and water. Therefore, it is essential to arrange ones living area and the objects in it to direct the flow of chi in a way that will benefit you.

In the simplest sense, Feng Shui is the art and science of examining the placement of objects within ones living space and their effect in the energy flow in the area. Furthermore, Feng Shui examines how these objects interact with the movement of your personal energy. The stream of your personal energy, in turn, influences your thoughts and your deeds, thus affecting your overall success in life. Whether or not youre aware of the fact, Feng Shui creates a massive impact on every single moment of your daily life.

Feng Shui recognizes that all beings, both living and non-living, are composed of energy. Think of the universe as one never-ending landscape of free-flowing energy. This energy is too great for you to control. Thankfully, this infinite energy is divided into smaller, more manageable units. These units include you, your properties, other people and their properties, and every creature and object in the environment which you can see and feel.

Feng Shui is not some new age fad. It has been around for centuries with origins that can be traced back between 6,000 and 2,000 years ago. In ancient China, Feng Shui was used by the ruling dynasties as a means to obtain and maintain wealth, health, and power. For this reason, practitioners of Feng Shui earned respectable positions within the society. And so the knowledge of Feng Shui has been handed down from masters to followers up until today.

What is the Bagua Map?

The Feng Shui Bagua is an important tool which you can use in defining the parts of your home which govern specific areas of your life such as love, health, family, wisdom, and wealth.

Keep in mind that in your house, there is what Feng Shui practitioners call auspicious areas. These spaces are made up of positive energy. It is necessary to determine these areas so that you may be able to enhance the positive energy.
