Anuradha Basu is Director of Undergraduate Programmes in the Department of Management at the School of Business, University of Reading and founder Director of the newly created Centre for Entrepreneurship in the School of Business, University of Reading. Her current research interests focus on ethnic minority entrepreneurship and the role of the family in ethnic minority business development.

Barbara J. Boucher, a recently retired consultant physician and senior lecturer, remains attached to the Departments of General Medicine and of Diabetes and Metabolic Medicine of both the Medical and Dental School Queen Mary, University of London and of Barts and the Royal London NHS in an honorary capacity. Her published research includes work on diet, on various metabolic disorders and on the assessment and care of those with diabetes. Current work includes the study of vitamin D deficiency and betel-usage as risk factors for diabetes and ischaemic heart disease, the role of vitamin D status on weight and body-build at birth and the effect of date of birth on the risk of diabetes in adult life.
Sally Chan is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Retailing and Marketing at The Business School, Manchester Metropolitan University. Her experience in consultancy includes user focus groups for the Design Support Centre, consumer research for ASDA Stores Ltd, service satisfaction surveys for the Princes Trust, and marketing education to institutions in China. She is presently completing a doctoral thesis about second generation Chinese entrepreneurial behaviour in Britain and Australia.
Angela J.M. Donkin is currently Senior Research Officer for the Office for National Statistics and is engaged in managing research into health inequalities. Her PhD was on the influence of TV advertising on childrens food choice and she subsequently worked on aspects of constraints to food choice. Her published works include articles on mapping access to healthy food and the results of research into minimum income requirements for healthy living.
Elizabeth A. Dowler is a Registered Public Health Nutritionist and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the University of Warwick, where she works on food and nutrition as social policy issues. She has carried out research and consultancy in many parts of the world and, latterly, has focused on food and low income, and public perceptions of food risk, in the UK and the rest of Europe. She has published widely and her most recent publications include Poverty Bites: Food, Health and Poor Families (2001), together with Angela Donkin et al., a paper on Mapping Access to Healthy Food in Deprived Areas (2001), and Nutrition policy through the life stages, in P. Shetty (ed.),
