To my bestest friends who understand my hibernation six months out of the year and love me anyway, Thank you for encouraging the artist (not manufacturer) within me. You always have my back and I love you for it.
To my editor Tonia, whose patience is beyond comprehension. Thank you for putting up with my , fragmented sentences, and lack of ability to meet a deadline. Your support never wavered and I am grateful. Long live the fir.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

TABLE OF CONTENTS
SPARKLE, SMUDGE AND SHINE
Slide into your bunny slippers. Turn on the fairy lights. Curl up in a tattered, cushy chair. Covet something old. Learn something new. Welcome to my world.
Theres a playground inside each of us. A silly, self-indulgent soul that hides amongst our day-to-day trivolities we must perform. We know its there. We see it when our eyes catch a glimpse of a ruffled-sparkling something. We can taste it when we lick an ice cream cone covered in chocolate sprinkles. We can feel it when we close our eyes and dream. Imagine a world covered in chocolate sprinkles. Imagine being in a world surrounded by pretty little things.
Within these pages you will escape to that inner playgrounda silly, sentimental journey sprinkled with a playful air and a sense of magic. Is your dream to become Queen For a Day (with a pink tiara)? Do you desire a secret way to make wishes come true (with a glittering magic wand)?
Would you like to honor the generations of women before you (with a wine-glass doll)?
In our playground we will marry vintage ephemera, antique photos, found objects, scavenged text and other charming elements, in a playful, yet nostalgic way and elegantly turn existing objects into goodies you will cherish forever. In doing so, your heart will fill with joy, your home will fill with laughter, and you will rediscover that yesterdays playground can still be ever so enchanting today.
Welcome to my world of Pretty Little Things
i am so lucky. i love my studio. love. love. love.
VISIT SALLYS STUDIO
It all began in my kitchen, where on the tiny island I would make my hand-pressed, clay tiles. Although this space was conveniently close to Diet Coke and chocolate, I needed more space. I spilled into the breakfast area, and then transformed my formal living room into my studio. Of course, it needed to be presentable, since it was the first room seen when entering the front door. Ugh! I can hardly keep up with my laundry let alone pick up my paints and cuttings every night.
Each home Ive lived in since then has offered more and more inspirational studio space. Should my studio even be in my home? Ive often debated that. But the beauty in having the place you spend so much time in be in your home is that you can run to it at a moments notice and stay as long as you like. Creative spurts come and go. Being so close allows me to create when I feel the passion and take a break when and however often I need one.
