ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Clemens F. Vasters is cofounder and chief technical officer of newtelligence AG, a German developer services company focusing on XML, BizTalk, and the Microsoft .NET Framework. Before starting newtelligence AG with two partners in the summer of 2000, he was director of research at a major German financial software provider from 1997 and, before that, development director at a financial software company in New York, NY starting 1995. Clemens has developed applications for the Microsoft Windows OS family since 1990 and has used COM and ODBC for business applications since 1992. He is coauthor of the Microsoft .NET Developer Tools Readiness Kit developed for Microsoft Consulting Services, and teaches Microsoft .NET technologies to Microsoft Partners, CTEC trainers, and Enterprise Consultants at workshops in the United States, Asia, and Europe. In addition, he is a frequent speaker at major international developer conferences. And in his free time he takes care of the aliens that landed in his backyard three years ago.

For Eva-Maria (Mama).
You said I should be a writer.
Look, now I even did a whole book!
And for Pat,
who endured my five months' worth
of intense keyboard ''click-clacking"
on the sofa in the living room
every evening and weekend.
Thank you for all,
everything and the rest, PatPat.
I love you.
