Introduction
30 Ways to use Rosemary is the brand new book of the creative " X-Ways to " ebook series. It is an introduction to the numerous uses of one of the most extraordinary herbs: Rosemary, an herb with multiple properties and benefits, variously used since ancient times until today.
Following the same fun and intuitive spirit of the previously published books of the series, 30 Ways to Use Rosemary will show you around the amazing uses of rosemary along with facts, history and myths! Enjoy!
Rosmarinus officinalis
Its Latin name is "Rosmarinus" , meaning the "rose of the sea", because it thrives even near the sea. According to another tradition, its flowers were originally white but their color changed when the Virgin Mary threw her garment on the plant. Then the flowers turned blue. It is also said that in her honor got its name "Rose of Mary".
Rosemary has played a very important role for the Mediterranean people, both as a gastronomic ingredient and a healing herb.
You can use rosemary to prepare healing beverages or to give your meals a special flavor, to relieve the headache, to stimulate your hair, even as an elixir of youth! I almost forgot: If you are a witch, watch out because it can vanquish you... but I suppose you already know that...! :D
Rosemaryis an herb that you should definitely have in your garden. It is not just a simple herb for gastronomic creations but it has many more benefits that may surprise you.
Its flavor is intense, spicy and relatively bitter.
Rosemary is a shrub with very small and thin leaves, which are densely packed on the branches and never lose their green color all year long. Its flowers are blue-purple, and sometimes white.
It grows in any soil, even if it is rocky. You can grow a new rosemary bush, simply by planting sprigs from a larger plant! Put the sprigs 5 to 6 days in the water before you plant them.
It is a very durable and decorative shrub with very few growing requirements. It can be easily adapted in your garden or on your balcony in a pot, as long as there is sufficient sunlight. Rosemary does not like moisture in the soil. The root may rot from over-watering and the plant can be attacked by fungi and die.
According to the books, rosemary blooms from March to June ... Mine however blossomed in February!
Cautions:
Herbs are very beneficial to health, but must be used wisely. Large amounts may cause poisoning! If you are pregnant you should consult your doctor before use. In many rural areas rosemary was used for abortion. Symptomsof overdose include dizziness, hallucinations, convulsions and damage of the mucous membranes of the kidneys and intestines. During pregnancy, breastfeeding, homeopathic treatment, or if you suffer from chronic or incurable diseases (diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular, hypertension, epilepsy, renal insufficiency etc.), consult your doctor/physician before usage.
For your hair only!
Rosemaryrejuvenates and reconstructs tired hair . Also removes grease and it is considered as the herbal medicine against hair loss . This is why you may find it as a basic ingredient in many hair products.

Rinse your hair with rosemary water.
In a large bowlput 2 tbsp of dried rosemary leaves and 1 tbsp of chamomile. Pour 1 quart of boiling water and let it cool. (If your hair is blond, use 2 tbsp of chamomile and 1tbsp of rosemary)

Repeat after 5-6 shampooing for better results.

A mask recipe thattreats the hair from the roots to the ends, strengthens and tones the scalp.

Preparingnatural cosmetics is fun, inexpensive and enhances the ritual of your beauty care!

If youdrink 1-2 cups a day for 3 weeks, then you have to take a one week break before you continue for another 3 weeks.
Note: do not take thesame herb for more than 2-3 months.

Rosemary is considered the natural memory enhancer. Wherein placed on the body, it stimulates the blood circulation. Probably this is why the ancient Greeks wore garlands of rosemary on their heads when they were studying hard.
