Most people know the benefit of having three 8-ounce cups of caffeinated coffee every day. It is good as a source of magnesium, potassium, vitamin B3 and antioxidants. To protect your teeth from the acid in coffee, it is a good idea to rinse your mouth with tap water than wait half an hour to brush them.
The best way to store fresh coffee beans or grinds is to place the small airtight plastic bags in the freezer, but when opened, place the left over coffee in an airtight glass or ceramic container in a dark, cool place.
We havent thought about the benefits of used coffee grounds outside our body. Most of the world consumes about 3 cups a day, per person, creating about 7.6 millions tons of used coffee grounds per year. Most of the coffee grounds go to the landfill as waste, but there are creative ways to recycle and reduce coffee grounds to have a better health, beautiful skin, and a clean home. Recycle Coffee Ground & Reduce Waste for a healthier and enrich your life.
Refrigerate or freeze grounds from your daily brewing until you have enough used coffee grounds for a large batch. If you don't drink coffee yourself, or you need more grinds than you will have, plan ahead and go to your local coffee house to ask them for their used coffee grounds.
You could dry your used coffee grounds by spreading them out on a cookie sheet near a sunny window. Alternatively, you could put the coffee grounds in an aluminum foil pie plate then place them in a cool, dry area until they are completely dry. Then you are ready to create wonderful things with the Used Coffee Ground
Here are a couple of homemade coffee scrubs. Be sure to mix together the dry ingredients in a bowl first, then add the wet ingredients.
Store each mixture in a sealed container and refrigerate when not in use. When you use the mixture, apply in a circular motion on wet or damp skin to scrub off dry dead skin cells and reveal soft, smooth, firm skin.
The best time is to use in the shower. Use sparingly to prevent your pipes from clogging. Another method is to scrub into skin and then rinse off after 15-20 minutes to help tighten your skin.
Since these are fresh and natural ingredients, the shelf life is only a couple of weeks for most of the coffee scrubs. Use the scrub at least once or twice in a week.
Note: Don't use brown sugar scrubs on your face or neck which can tear or scratch the skin.
Key:
Brown sugar to rejuvenate your skin and gently exfoliate without drying
Coffee Grounds to natural exfoliate skin
Olive oil, sweet almond oil (recondition the skin), Jojoba Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil (good for sensitive, dry or inflamed skin), Cocoa Oil or any other light oil base to moisturize your skin.
