Iced coffee is getting more and more popular. You can find it in every coffee shop. There is an iced version for every coffee drink - cappuccino, latte, caffe mocha, macchiato. But why you need to depend on others to make your favorite iced coffee drink, why don't you make it yourself?In this book, you will find many interesting variations of the iced coffee. We start with the Classic iced coffee of course but there is iced espresso, latte or mocha as well. There are many different ways to prepare iced coffee. The first option which is considered better takes more time. This is called cold brew. You have to soak ground coffee overnight and then strain it in the morning. Thus the coffee has more rich and not so bitter. In a hot summer day, who can wait so long for a fresh glass of iced coffee? You can rely on heat to do the magic and then cool the coffee and make the iced drink. When making hot coffee you also have two options - espresso or granule instant coffee. Espresso is better for some of the versions of iced coffee while others may require instant coffee. You can find more information about that in this book.As the name iced coffee suggests, ice is an important ingredient. For some recipes, you can use ice cubes but other recipes are better with crushed ice.
CLASSIC ICED COFFEE
This is the classic traditional iced coffee recipe. It has to be made with fresh espresso. If you can make Classic iced coffee, you can try any other version of this refreshing drink. Ingredients:
- cup (4 fl oz) espresso coffee
- 2 tsp caster sugar
- 1 cup (8 fl oz) milk
- 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
- Ice
Instructions: 1. Make cup espresso coffee.2. Add sugar to the hot espresso. Stir well until sugar is dissolved.3. Let cool for 20 minutes at room temperature or place the coffee in a refrigerator for 10 minutes.4. Add cold milk to the sweet coffee and stir well.5. Put ice in two glasses and add 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream to every glass.6. Pour coffee mixture.7. Serve with a straw or a decorative mixing spoon.
ICED INSTANT COFFEE
Iced instant coffee is a good option if you don't have espresso. If you add condensed sweetened milk, this will give a nice touch to your drink. Ingredients:
- cup (4 oz) warm water
- 2 tsp instant coffee granules
- 1 cup (8 fl oz) milk
- cup (4 fl oz) sweetened condensed milk
- Ice
- Caramel syrup for serving
Instructions: 1. Mix warm water and instant coffee granules in a bowl.2. Let cool for 15 minutes at room temperature or place the coffee in a refrigerator for 5 minutes.3. Combine coffee, ice, milk and sweetened condensed milk and blend in a blender or food processor until smooth.4. Pour iced coffee in cups and add caramel syrup before serving.
VANILLA ICED COFFEE
Vanilla is an excellent flavor for iced coffee. You can get vanilla flavor by using vanilla ice cream and if that is not enough vanilla for you, you can use a vanilla extract instead. Ingredients:
- 1 cup (8 fl oz) espresso coffee
- cup (2 oz) brown sugar
- cup (4 fl oz) boiling water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 scoops vanilla ice cream
- Ice
Instructions: 1. Make a cup of espresso coffee.2. Let cool for 30 minutes at room temperature or place the coffee in a refrigerator for 15 minutes.3. Add sugar and vanilla extract to boiling water until sugar is dissolved.4. Let sweet vanilla mixture cool for 30 minutes at room temperature or place in a refrigerator for 15 minutes.5. Add sugar to the hot espresso. Stir well until sugar is dissolve.6. Put ice in three glasses and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to every glass.7. Pour coffee mixture.8. Add 1 tablespoon of sweet vanilla mixture to every glass.9. Serve with a straw or a decorative mixing spoon.
ASIAN ICED COFFEE
Asian iced coffee is a strong version of the drink. It is prepared with ground coffee beans and condensed milk. You can also add ground dark chocolate before serving. Ingredients:
- 2 cups (16 fl oz) water
- cup (2 oz) ground coffee beans
- cup (2 fl oz) sweetened condensed milk
- Ice
- Ground dark chocolate for serving
Instructions: 1. Brew ground coffee with water.2. Let cool for 20 minutes at room temperature or place the coffee in a refrigerator for 10 minutes.3. Mix sweetened condensed milk, add coffee and stir well.4. Put ice in two glasses.5. Pour coffee mixture.6. Sprinkle with ground dark chocolate and serve with a straw.
ICED COFFEE WITH CREAM
People usually make iced coffee with ice cream. Adding half-and-half cream can be a very good idea and will give your iced coffee a fresh light taste. Ingredients:
- cup (4 oz) espresso coffee
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- 1 cup (8 fl oz) milk
- 1 cup (8 fl oz) half-and-half cream
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Ice
Instructions: 1. Make cup espresso coffee.2. Add sugar to the hot espresso. Stir well until sugar is dissolve.3. Let cool for 20 minutes at room temperature or place the coffee in a refrigerator for 10 minutes.4. Add cold milk and half-and half cream to the sweet coffee and stir well.5. Put ice in two glasses.6. Pour coffee mixture.7. Sprinkle with cinnamon and serve with a straw or a decorative mixing spoon.
MINT ICED COFFEE
If you think that iced coffee is not refreshing enough in a hot summer day, you may need to add some mint. You will have a great drink and one glass will not be enough. Ingredients:
- cup (4 oz) espresso coffee
- 1 tsp peppermint extract
- 2 tsp caster sugar
- 1 cup (8 fl oz) milk
- 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
- Ice
- Mint leaves for serving
Instructions: 1. Make cup espresso coffee.2. Add sugar and peppermint extract to the hot espresso. Stir well until sugar is dissolve.3. Let cool for 20 minutes at room temperature or place the coffee in a refrigerator for 10 minutes.4. Add cold milk to the mint coffee and stir well.5. Put ice in two glasses and add 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream to every glass.6. Pour coffee mixture.7. Sprinkle with fresh mint leaves and serve with a straw.
WALNUT CHOCOLATE ICED COFFEE
Walnuts and chocolate are divine combination. If you add coffee and ice cream, you will have the ultimate strong drink that will give an active start to your day. Ingredients:
- cup (2 oz) chopped dark chocolate
- cup (2 oz) chopped walnuts
- cup (4 oz) brown sugar
