MAN
A man dared to speak
We all listened
One even clapped as he left
We all laughed, it was funny to hear
A man speak what he felt
And one even clapped as he left
THE FLAG
I can see all of the reasons
I can feel all of the seasons
That the flag flies
That the flag cries
I feel tears forming
In my eyes
I see tears forming in no eyes
But the flag flies
That no man dies
But a Wife cries
SMILE AT THE TIDE
Smile as the tide takes
Your friends away, you enjoyed
Them in your day
Rest them easy on your mind
The tide is gentle and kind
Live today like tomorrow the Tide
May take you away and leave
No sorrow
ODE TO A BUG IN THE DITCH
Involved stems that shadow hidden
Waterways, what do they conceal?
A house of glass?
A lodge of tin?
A refuge of cardboard?
How thin your vail grows!
Many people look, but so few see.
Care not my little friend, cast off
Set sail in your little plastic cup upon
Your tiny sea.
LOVE
Love is the bright twinkle
That dances in your eyes
Like stars sparkling on the
dark Night water
The fire your voice has
When we talk
Tender-soft-hugs
On warm summer nights
The passion when lips gently brush
Walks - Talks
The Song in your voice
Eternal sleep comes
Too soon to us all
Not to have that love
Be it big or be it small
LITTLE THINGS
Sorry, when I blew too hard and
made your Hair all askew for
when I am the wind
That is what I do.
When the birds, they sing too bold,
Blame me for it is I that
orchestrates them loud.
In the spring when flowers bloom, it is
I who makes all of the perfume.
I am the shadow in the corner of your eye,
The one that you can not quite spy.
I am the little things, like the dew,
I do them all for you.
LAST GOOD-BYE
Life steals us all away
And never says good-bye.
If you live life to its fullest
You will never have to say good-bye.
Friends will know your feelings
and of your passing by.
If you touch them deep enough,
One may even cry,
DAISY
Picture a parking lot
With the only thing in it a
flower in the center.
The flower is a beautiful pure
Daisy and the Daisy is you.
The parking lot is my heart
Now empty without you.
CANDY HEARTS
I bought a box of candy hearts
I broke them one and all
I threw them to the wind just
To watch them dance and fall
I have my fill of broken hearts and
Dancing in the wind
I want to be near you and
Dance once again
I bought a box of candy hearts
To watch the dance begin
BECAUSE
Because you can not reach
I planted a field of flowers
for All the good times
That the World would see your
Beauty and smell your cologn Picture 2
WHITE TULIP
A white tulip waits
For a Kiss of Sun
you arrive
It straightens
Tall
To meet you
Its Pedals open
Wide
To greet you
Then you are gone
In silence
It bows its head
A white tulip waits
For a Kiss of Sun
COUNT
One Bubble
Two Bubbles
Three
I count them as they pass
Around the Music Box
One Bubble
Two Bubbles
Three
I listen to the sad songs
and count
One Bubble
Two Bubbles
Three
I Cry for you and count
One Bubble
Two Bubbles
Three
POISON IVY
Love is like poison ivy
It makes you itch and scratch
Love is like a field of flowers
Blowing by a rippling lake
Love is like a hot summers day
And a cool evening breeze
Love is like an unexpected hand
In yours when you least expect it
Love is like a cool flowing river
That covers your whole body
Love is like a soft bed and
Warm arms to surround you
Love is walks down
Quiet paths
Love is memories
When we are old
Love is our imagination
And our dreams
Love is like poison ivy
It makes you itch and scratch
DOLPHIN LADY
They called her their little brother
The Dolphin lady
She would wait on the sands of
The bay for her dolphin friends to
Come and Play
They would ride the currents
Wherever they went
Through paths in the kelp beds
Through the receding tide
Into the deeper blue water to
The point where the
Deep Blue of Sea meets
the Deep Blue of the Sky
To this day you can see
The dolphin lady riding
With her dolphin friends
In the clouds near the sea
By the sands of the bay
THE LAST ROSE OF SUMMER
It stands alone in a
Cold snow-swept garden.
The Last Rose of summer
Dressed all in frost
A drop of dew is frozen halfway
Down a pedal
It could be a tear from a
Lost Lover
Petrified by winters blast
Preserved on pedals of red
And stems of green
Waiting till it can find
The warmth of spring
The last rose of summer stands
Dressed in frost
It stands alone
In a cold snow swept garden
Waiting
THE DREAM
In a deep sleep I had a dream
I dreamt I died and in that eternal
Firmament an angel I became
And by your side I was Placed
To give you solace with my grace.
In times of need I was there
With a heart full of care
Throughout your life
By your side I did abide
To grant you happiness inside.
My love I did not hide in this eternity
By your side
SWEETHEART DEFINED
Love is like
A favorite candy
Once you taste it
You crave it
Even after
It is gone
The taste is never
Forgotten, but
Often longed for
That is why
Lovers are Sweethearts
RAVENS HAIR
Thin fine strands
Of black ravens hair
Falls gently down
To shoulders bare
While combs glisten
In the midnight glare
Steel fingers work
Where mine should be
Gently running through
Thin fine strands
Of black ravens hair
Falling gently down
To shoulders bare
NIGHT MELODY
In the magic of the night
A quiet flower blooms
In its stalwart presence
A melody looms
