SAY AHHHHH!
Augie, a golden retriever owned by the Miller family in Dallas, Texas, started down the road to fame when he was five years old. He won a national contest that earned him $5,000, a trip to New York City, and tickets to see a live David Letterman show! Although he didnt appear on Letterman, he was a contestant on Animal Planets Pet Star. And three years later, he officially became a Guinness World Records holder. His special trick? Augie holds the record for the most tennis balls held in the mouth by a dog. This retriever can open his mouth wide enough to fit five tennis balls! And he did just that on July 6, 2003. Advantage, Augie!

EARS LOOKING AT YOU!
If you ask Harbor if his ears hang low, the answer would be a definite woof! Harbor, a black-and-tan coonhound, had his ears measured at 12.25 inches (left ear) and 13.5 inches (right ear) on June 8, 2010, making him the Guinness World Records holder for the longest ears on a living dog. His owner, Jennifer Wert of Colorado, says that when he was a puppy, Harbor frequently tripped on his long ears. Its really fun to be the owner of a Guinness World Records holder, Jennifer says. Cars will literally stop in the street to take a closer look and get a picture!
ULTIMATE FACT:
Harbors long ears actually help him smellnot hearbetter. When moving around, his ears will fall into a rhythm that helps sweep scents into his nose.
LISTEN UP
The dog with the longest ears ever is Tigger, a bloodhound who was owned by Bryan and Christina Flessner of St. Joseph, Illinois. His ears measured 13.75 inches (right ear) and 13.5 inches (left ear). Sadly, Tigger passed away in 2009, but during his lifetime, he won many show titles and over 180 best of breed awards. Tigger was inducted into the Bloodhound Hall of Fame in 2003.
