LARGEST OBJECT LIFTED BY HELIUM BALLOONS
Inspired by the animated movie Up (USA, 2009), the National Geographic Channel (USA) floated a house weighing 4,335 lb (1,966 kg) including the frame, ballast, rigging, and pilot to a height of 10,000 ft (3,050 m) over Los Angeles, USA, using a cluster of 300 helium-filled balloons 10 stories tall. The project, which took two weeks to realize in February and March 2011, was filmed for the TV series How Hard Can it Be?

Shinichi Ito (Japan) flew a horizontal, straight-line distance of 10.19 miles (16.4 km) after jumping from an airplane 33,430 ft (10,550 m) above Yolo County, California, USA. He flew for 4 min 57 sec on September 24, 2010, reaching a maximum speed of 178.3 mi/h (287 km/h) and deploying his parachute at an altitude of 3,050 ft (929.6 m). During his record attempt, he wore a Blade II wing suit, manufactured by Birdman, Inc. (Finland).

Measuring 10 ft (3.05 m) in diameter, the largest whoopee cushion ever was made by Steve Mesure (UK) on behalf of the Street Vibe music project for an event at The Scoop in London, UK, on June 14, 2008. Volunteers were encouraged to sit on the cushion to demonstrate how wind instruments work.

In total, Jonathan covered 109 miles (175 km) during his flight and reached a peak altitude of 7,474 ft (2,278 m).
