About the Author

Stephen D. Morris (Ph.D. Arizona 1988) is the Director of the International Studies Program and Professor of Political Science at the University of South Alabama, and Director of the Guadalajara Summer Program for Thunderbird, The Garvin School of International Management. He has taught at La Universidad de las Americas in Puebla and as a Fulbright Lecturer at the Universidad de Guadalajara. He is the author of Corruption and Politics in Contemporary Mexico (1991) and Political Reformism in Mexico (1995) and numerous articles on Mexican politics, corruption, and nationalism appearing in the Bulletin of Latin American Research, Corruption and Reform, The Journal of Interamerican Studies and World Affairs, The Journal of Latin American Studies, Mexican Studies/Estudios Mexicanos, National Identity , and Third World Quarterly . In addition to his research on political corruption in Mexico, Morris is working on a companion volume to Gringolandia exploring U.S. perceptions of Mexico.
