Andrew Bailey

served in the police in Northern Ireland for 28 years. He was the lead detective for Child Abuse, Sexual Offences and Vulnerable Adults. His main areas of interest were the protection of children and vulnerable adults, criminal investigation, extradition, international mutual legal assistance, pre-employment vetting, project management, intelligence disclosure/management and sex offender risk management. After retirement, Bailey was appointed Child Protection Advisor to Northern Ireland Cooperation Overseas (NICO) and was deployed on various missions funded by the European Union, primarily training police and judges in child abuse. Andrew holds a PhD in (Ulster University, YEAR??).

Ian Brine

holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice (Carleton University, 2016) and a Master of Terrorism and Security Studies (Charles Sturt University, 2019).

Brine has diverse experience in working with the public, including as Jail Guard for the RCMP in the Arctic, and providing security and protective services for clients that included the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia. Brine has worked extensively with vulnerable populations in homeless shelters in Ottawa and Vancouver. Most recently, Brine provided harm reduction services at a Supervised Injection Site.

Katherine Brine

holds a Bachelor of Arts (Highest Honours) in Psychology (Carleton University, 2013) and a Master of Arts in Criminology (Simon Fraser University, 2015). Her research focused on protective factors in post-release Canadian federal offenders with mental health issues, and health service accessibility and police response to mental-health-related emergencies in Northern British Columbia. Brines interest in these areas stems from working as a mental health counsellor, extensive experience residing in a number of Canadian rural and remote settings including the Arctic, and her fathers work as an Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officer. Katherine has been employed as a Youth Reintegration Support Worker at a full-time attendance program (alternative to custody) for female youth with severe substance addictions. She worked as a Government Youth Probation Officer, and is working as a Child Protection Social Worker in Greater Vancouver.

Lindsey Brine

joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in 1987 after completing his First Class Honours BA in Philosophy (McGill University, 1986). He performed uniform policing duties in Canadas Arctic and the Atlantic coast. Brine also worked as a Constable, a Corporal, and a Sergeant conducting and managing complex investigations including on armed robberies, arson, homicides, narcotics, and serious sexual assaults. He was commissioned in 2003 and worked in Human Resources as an Inspector and a Superintendent. In 2008, Lindsey became the RCMP Liaison Officer for the Senate of Canada Committee on National Security and Defence. In 2009, he worked as Team Commander for two high profile terrorist related kidnappings.
