KAY HAS BEEN TOLERATING ME for fifty-two years of marriage, and its always been a challenge. It seems as if I have always been involved in some conservative crusade that has created a lot of public hostility. She has suffered the consequences of me being accused of conservative extremism before conservatism was fashionable. Exposing the hoax has been no exception, but she has stuck with me and never complained. I love and appreciate my kids and grandkids whose friends had been brainwashed and have asked them why their father or grandfather was so extreme, but they never complained.

I appreciate Matt Dempsey, my Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee communications director, who works tirelessly each day to expose the hoax. He and Katie Brown, my Environment and Public Works Committee press secretary, daily sift through a tremendous amount of material. They take it as a mission, and I so greatly appreciate their work.

I have had the benefit of many former staff who have helped me expose the hoax throughout the years. They have not simply helped me on climate issues, but they have helped me on a variety of conservative causes fighting overregulation and preserving free enterprise. I want to thank former EPW Committee staff director Andrew Wheeler who was with me for fourteen years. He and I fought alone especially in the early days of the climate change fight of 2003 to 2005. He did an extraordinary job helping me expose the hoax.

My former EPW Committee communication director Marc Morano, who had previously worked for Rush Limbaugh, regularly did an outstanding job exposing the hoax and gathering information from a variety of sources and researchers eager to be counted among the skeptics.

My EPW Committee advisors through the years included John Shanahan, Mike Catanzaro, and Tom Hassenboehler, who have helped me through the legislative meetings and debate on the Senate floor exposing the hoax and preventing the greatest tax increase in American history.

The foreign relations component to the hoax cannot be ignored. I appreciate my staff Luke Holland and Joel Starr for their traveling with me and their work.

My executive assistant Kathie Lopp has been with me for twenty years. She and my executive scheduler Wendi Price always keep me organized regardless of what conservative mission I have been on over the years.

My chief of staff, Ryan Jackson started with me when he was eighteen years old, and hes used to the battles weve faced over the years. Ruth Van Mark, my EPW Committee staff director, has been with me for twenty-two years. They work together to ensure my office keeps working efficiently.

I also appreciate the work of Jan Dargatz organizing a tremendous amount of material in multiple drafts over the past number of months.

My daughter Molly not only wrote my favorite chapter I call the Igloo Chapter, but she helped with the entire manuscript.

WHY?

Why, when the United Nations IPCC is totally refuted

Why is this book necessary?

Very simple: the environmental activist extremists are not going away.

They are committed to their crown jewelcap and trade. Whether by treaty, legislation or regulation, this largest tax increase in American history must become a reality for them.

And while the public has caught on and believes the global warming issue is dead, President Obama and the left in Congress are proceeding as if nothing has happened, inserting expensive CO2 emission controls in virtually every piece of legislation and regulation.

While in the fall of 2011, the House, the Senate, and the Super Committee got all the public attention on a spending reduction of one trillion dollars over ten years, the extremists are pushing an agenda that would cost the American taxpayers three trillion dollars in that same ten years. And it has gone almost completely unnoticed for two reasons: one, the media is obsessed with resurrecting the Gore mantra and, two, MoveOn.org, George Soros, Michael Moore, and the Hollywood elites have the resources to reverse the defeat and preserve their crown jewel. And they will do it with or without President Obama.
