In alphabetical order, we would like to thank Anne Marie Cullen, Eli Dutton, Scott Hurrell, Eleanor Kirk and Johanna Macquarie (nee Commander) of the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland for their fantastic research assistance and, in some cases, management of the projects that generated primary data for this book. Although she is no longer with us, dying tragically too young, we would also like to acknowledge the core participation of Anne Witz in the early stages of the projects that culminated in this book. We have also been lucky to have a number of excellent national and international research collaborators: Richard Hall and Diane van den Broek of the Universities of Monash and Sydney respectively in Australia, and Henrietta Huzell and Patrik Larsson of Karlstad University in Sweden.
