Praise for From Loving One to One Love

From Loving One to One Love is one of the most accessible, relatable and illustrative books Ive ever read about the teachings of special vs. holy relationships in A Course in Miracles. If you are truly ready to experience awakening, the fastest road is not through individual enlightenment as you might expect, but through the very relationships that challenge us the most. This book will help you get there. It will provide you with the inspiration, insight and motivation needed to repurpose your relationships as vehicles through which healing can be received by all. I love this book and wholeheartedly recommend it!

For my wife and life partner, Emmanuelle, who has taught me more about love and relationships than I ever imagined possible. Thank you, lovefor everything! We walk the path to reawakening together.

And for Tamara Morgan, fellow co-president and partner in guiding the Foundation for Inner Peace. What a long, strange trip since we first metproof that the Holy Spirit sees the big picture and we do not. I am grateful to you for joining me in sharing the love of this holy relationship. May it extend to include everyone.

Foreword

D r. Robert Rosenthal and I were both present on June 26, 1976, at the home of Judy Skutch Whitson in the historic Beresford apartment building on Central Park West in New York City when the first printed editions of A Course in Miracles were handed out.

Neither of us could have known then the immense breadth and depth of the books we held in our hands. Nor could we have understood how these words would change our lives, our understanding of this world, the implications for mental health, and our appreciation for that Life which transcends the insanity of the egos worlda world we are so often tempted to see before us.

The Course has quite rightly been called a modern spiritual classic. It is indeed a masterpiece. The deeper we go into this transformational work, the deeper we see that this Course is taking us all the way Home. Most incredibly, the goal of this Course is enlightenment.

It is with joy that I offer my sincere appreciation of Dr. Bob Rosenthals well written, clear, simple statement of the basic principles of A Course in Miracles and how we might directly apply these principles. He does so with humor, anecdotes, and insights arising from his practice as a psychiatrist. He provides a gentle expos of the egos longing for specialness and of a clear differentiation between special love as the ego would construct it to insights into real love as God shares His love with us through these incredible words of Jesus as found in the Course.

We dont have to do anything to earn Gods love; and for the sake of our own happiness, all we need to do is to get out of our not-selfs shadow so that we might then be illumined. All we have to do is to be the love that we already are, forgiving ourselves for having entertained the ego, and get on with Loving Life, Loving God, and thus Loving all there is.

As Dr. Bob points out, we do not speak of rising in love, rather do we fall in love; and falling often hurts, especially when sobriety sets in. Then, the impetuous and often unthinking ego falls out of loveouch! How painful this can be. What we need quite simply is to engage in a process of purification. As the Course tells us Miracles are everyones right, but purification is necessary first. Once we have responsibly removed the blocks to an awareness of loves presence, Gods love can then pour forth onto all of life, all the time, without condition. The result is that we are happy, and being happy, the world around us somehow miraculously improves.

Perfect love does not exist in a fantasy world. That well leave for the movies. Perfect love does exist, however, within Gods Kingdom and the Kingdom of Heaven is within you,not the temporal body but the eternal mind. As the Course tells us in the first Chapter, Only perfect love exists. If there is fear, it produces a state that does not exist. Real love can be found only within our relationship with the Universe and within ourselves; we are a part of God. Ultimately, we see, there is no way to escape from God, from this One love sowere better off taking God/Love into our full embrace.

Preface

Valentines Day and the Course of True Love

F rom Loving One to One Love is a book about transforming relationships. As of this writing, the book has been scheduled for release on February 14, 2020, Valentines Day, a day dedicated to the celebration of romantic lovea day of flowers, hearts, chocolates, dinners out, and of course greeting cards to express to those we love how much we love them. Cupids arrows fly thick and fast on this daybut for most, to no great effect. If youre yearning for that special someone whos managed to elude your oh-so-subtle attentions, its unlikely your Be my Valentine card will have much impact. And if youre already a couple, then why wait for Valentines Day to say I love you?
