Acknowledgments
First and foremost I wish to thank my wife and children for their patience and encouragement during the writing of this book. They are the inspiration for all that I do.
Special thanks to Matthew Brownlee for more than 20 years of friendship and for providing all the artwork in this book. Bang-up job my friend, as always.
Thanks to Lama Vajranatha (John Myrdhin Reynolds) for providing access to countless private translations and personal teachings on tantra and Dzogchen. Also for roping me in to the Ordo Templi Orientis (OTO) and The Nyingma Orders. I have no idea what I would be if I had not met you when I was still a know-it-all teenager.
Thanks to Christopher Bradford of the Ordo Octopi Nigiri Pulveri for providing access and permission to quote order documents. Also for constant feedback as I wrote the chapters.
Thanks to Cliff and Micha Pollick for initiation into the Chthonic Auranian Temple and for many teachings on Sex Magic and thoughts on the radical Freedom Inherent in Thelema.
Thanks to my apprentices for sharing experiences and offering up questions that I hopefully answered in the text. Special nods to Stephanie Austin and Myles McPherson for questions on the chapters. Thanks to my students and readers, without whom I would not be able to live this wonderful life I am living.
Thanks to Michael Strojan and Jade Yu for answering questions and providing references for LGBT issues.
Thanks to all my initiators, mentors, teachers, friends, and informants who have revealed to me the secrets of their craft. Special thanks for this go to: John Myrdhin Reynolds, Namkhai Norbu, Lopon Tenzin Namdak, Kunzang Dorje Rinpoche, Cliff and Misha Pollick, catherine yronwode, +Shawn Knight, Tau Nemesius, Paul Hume, Simon, Lama Wangdor, Blanch Krubner, Dr. Jim, and all my brothers in the Terra Sancta Sodality.
Lastly I want to thank all at New Page Press who worked on this book. Specifically Laurie Kelly-Pye who read an article of mine on witchvox.com and suggested I start writing books.

Introduction
The role of sex and passion in spirituality has been an uneasy one. Sex is one of the most primal drives for the human animal, and it is the gateway to lifes greatest ecstasies as well as its deepest pains and poisons. So powerful is this drive that most spiritual paths attempt to marginalize, bind, or vilify it as a force that is at best a distraction from a spiritual life and at worst a force of evil and bondage. There has, however, been a small minority of cults and individuals operating at the margins of every religion and culture on earth that seeks to harness the potency of these passions. Through special sexual techniques, passion becomes the fuel for both spiritual realization and practical sorcery.
When it comes to teachers I have always been lucky. Very early in my occult career I made contact with individuals from both Eastern and Western traditions who were kind enough to offer me personal instruction, including teachings on sex.
I learned about sex magic when I was still a teenager working my way through Donald Michael Kraigs classic Modern Magick. After doing some promising experiments from that book I decided to look closer at Sex Magic and started, as many do, with the teachings of Aleister Crowley. Eventually I joined the Ordo Templi Orientis (OTO), a group that upholds Crowleys philosophy and practices Sex Magic at it higher degrees. Unsatisfied with the rate of progress offered to aspirants in the OTO, I eventually left to join an off-shoot: The Chthonic Auranian Temple, where I was able to receive direct instruction and a more open access to the necessary materials thanks to my initiators, Cliff and Micha Pollick.
Eventually my sights turned eastward and I started studying Himalayan Tantra. Though I have had many teachings and initiations from Lamas of all the major Tibetan traditions, as well as Bon, the indigenous religion of Tibet, it was under the direction of Lama Vajranatha (John Myrdhin Reynolds) that my understanding of sexual yoga came together and was put into context. Without his direction, I would not have been able to understand the fundamentals, and I would not have gotten other Lamas who ordinarily are very silent on the subject to speak freely and frankly about what is really needed and important.
Throughout the last decade or so my teachings from the East and the West have intermingled in my mind, each informing the other, and giving rise to a cohesive teaching that has proven itself both workable and effective. Unfortunately in both the East and the West, the teachings on sexual magic have been shrouded by dire oaths of secrecy, twilight language, alchemical codes, and in some cases long and unnecessary preliminaries that have more to do with keeping young monks occupied all day than they do with actually being necessary for training. I believe that the time has come for this to change. The time has come to speak of these things openly and plainly.
To be clear, this is not a book about sacred sexuality: although you certainly need to hold sexuality sacred in order to make magic, the work of this book goes far beyond merely treating sex as a sacramental act. This is not a love manual either: although the reader may gain some tips for performance, the focus on the book is on sorcery and spiritual ascent, not on improved orgasms or recapturing lost libido. Finally, it is not a book of spells to find sex partners: although such Sorcery has its place, that is not what we are dealing with here. The book you hold in your hand is a manual of sexual sorcery: the art of using sex acts to cause changes in consciousness and the world around us.
