Introduction
Our Lord Jesus told His disciples: "if you ask anything in my name, I will do it" (John 14:14). He gave them this blessedpromise in the context of their instructions to be faithful imitatorsof His love and to be faithful, fruitful branches. They were to "ask"for assistance in the work to which He was calling them.
We -- sons and daughters of God by Baptism, saved by gracethrough faith, striving to abide in His word and love -- have thissame calling and same promise. With this Scriptural Devotion tothe Holy Name of our Lord Jesus, you are invited to offer to Himthis devotion and then place before Him your petitions, willingto receive whatever He desires to give you, knowing that "...ineverything God works for good with those who love him and arecalled according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28) Specifically weare encouraging you to offer this Devotion for the conversion of afriend or family member to the Catholic Church.
This Devotion prayer consists of a series of fifteen Scripturereadings focusing on devotion to the Name of Jesus. You areencouraged to begin each day of this fifteen-day Devotion byfirst meditating on the cross of Jesus or upon Jesus Himself in theBlessed Sacrament, praising Him for His sacrificial love for you.After reading each Scripture, take a brief moment to prayerfullymeditate on its meaning and then conclude by reciting the portionor portions of the text in bold. Closing Hymn of Praise:
AT THE NAME OF JESUS
C. Noel, d. 1877
At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow,
Every tongue confess him King of glory now;
'Tis the Father's pleasure, we should call him Lord,
Who from the beginning was the mighty Word.
Humbled for a season, to receive a name
From the lips of sinners, unto whom he came,
Faithfully he bore it, spotless to the last,
Brought it back victorious, when from death he passed.
In your hearts enthrone him; where, let him subdue
All that is not holy all that is not true;
May your voice entreat him in temptation's hour;
Let his will enfold you in its light and power.
Closing Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, I rededicate myself to You, askingthat You hear my petitions and grant them according toYour gracious will. Help me to always be faithful to Yourcommandment to love one another as You have loved us,and may I be empowered by Your Holy Spirit to proclaimYour gospel to every one I meet. This I ask in Your Holyand powerful name Jesus Christ, our Lord.

THE SCRIPTURAL READING FOR EACH DAY
DAY ONE: Psalm 86 (85): 6-12
"Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer, hearken to my cry of supplication.
In the day of my trouble I call on Thee, for Thou dost answer me.
There is none like Thee among the gods, O Lord,
Nor are there any works like Thine.
All the nations Thou hast made shall come
and bow down before Thee, O Lord, and glorify Thy name.
For Thou art great and doest wondrous things, Thou alone art God.
Teach me Thy way, O Lord, that I may walk in Thy truth;
UNITE MY HEART TO FEAR THY NAME.
I give thanks to Thee, O Lord my God, with my whole heart,
AND I WILL GLORIFY THY NAME FOR EVER."
DAY TWO: Luke 1.26-33

And he came to her and said, 'Hail, full ofgrace, the Lord is with you!' But she was greatly troubled at thesaying, and considered in her mind what sort of greeting thismight be. And the angel said to her, 'Do not be afraid, Mary, foryou have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceivein your womb and bear a son, and YOU SHALL CALL HISNAME JESUS. He will be great, and will be called the Son ofthe Most High; and the Lord God will give to Him the throneof his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.'"
DAY THREE: Matthew 1.18-25
"Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When hismother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they cametogether she was found to be with child of the Holy Spirit;and her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling toput her to shame, resolved to send her away quietly. But as heconsidered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to himin a dream, saying, 'Joseph, son of David, do not fear to takeMary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of theHoly Spirit; she will bear a son,
