Not only is this Wests best work to date, but it is essential for anyone ready for the next step in their study of the Theology of the Body. You shouldnt read this book casually for head-knowledge, but with the heart and on the knees!
Heavens Song dug down into my heart and brought out a deeper and more pure love for my husband and for God. It is truly amazing!
The words of Christopher West have changed my heart and view of my femininity in a profound and holy way. Please read this book! Your life will never be the same because you will meet Jesus in a most intimate way!
This book sings! And in singing it teaches us to sing. With Christopher Wests help in pulling back the veil on the profound mystery of Gods spousal love, we discover that the lyrics and the melody of heavens song have been in our hearts all along!
The deeper I got into this book, the more in awe I was of Gods stunning plan for us. Ive been a Catholic my whole life why hasnt anybody told me this!? I challenge all men to read Heavens Song . Guys, trust me, youll see, like I did, that sexual love is more amazing and sacred then we ever dreamed!
Heavens Song shines the light of Christ on our wounds only to be drawn into the healing balm of his Glory. We woman get in trouble when fear sets in. This book encourages us to turn our hearts to the Fathers love, to press in, to receive and to be not afraid.
Transforming union with Jesus is a fruit of a mature and integrated sexual identity. This is the call given through Heavens Song and it is my prayer that many priests, religious, and laity alike will read this book and respond to the call.
Christopher West has done an outstanding job in Heavens Song of showing us how passionately God loves us. I felt as if I were right within the heartbeat of Gods mercy and love.

Foreword
A good priest and spiritual director I know sometimes asks people, What song is God singing over you today?
In this book on the undelivered addresses of John Paul IIs Theology of the Body, Christopher West invites us to open our ears to the song that God is singing to us through our bodies, through our creation as male and female, and through our natural desire for intimate union. The invitation to hear this song which tells us of Gods original plan for sexuality is desperately needed today, because our cultures native beat has made us deaf to it. And no one is better suited to deliver the invitation than Christopher West. For more than a decade he has been translating the Theology of the Body for popular audiences from the dense and lofty language of philosophical discourse into language and experiences we can all understand.
Because a substantial part of the book is taken up with John Pauls reflections on the Song of Songs, anyone who reads it will find themselves at the intersection of the sacred and the sexual. This is especially true of the books second half, which shows how the conjugal union of spouses can both illuminate and be purified by the celebration of the liturgy. The combination may seem odd, perhaps even offensive, to some sensibilities. But the point of this book is to teach us to see the body as the revelation of a great mystery, to experience the desire for intimate union as an echo of Gods desire to unite himself with us forever, and to let the one flesh union of man and woman point us toward the mystery of Christ and the Church. If that seems strange, I would suggest that the strangeness is not so much with the book as it is with our sensibilities. It is diagnostic. It shows how far we have drifted from the biblical worldview that includes the Song of Songs.
