My name is Lidia and I was born in Spain, where we still keep some of our ancient pagan traditions. I have always felt a calling to learn more about my ancestors, and I enjoy visiting archeological sites where I can connect with my Celtiberian roots. My mother began teaching me about the energy of the universe when it became clear at an early age that I had a special sensitivity to energies.
As I grew up, I was curious about the occult and I started reading books and attending courses, choosing the Wiccan path several years ago. I also have a deep connection with Mother Earth and environmental awareness, and this led me to earn a bachelors degree in environmental science. I wrote this book for all types of witches, but you may notice my beliefs coming through, especially those related to protecting Mother Earth.
This book is a concise and in-depth guide of how to practice witchcraft. This includes practicing meditation and divination, connecting with Mother Earth, setting up an altar, using herbs and crystals, celebrating the pagan holidays, working with deities and spirits, casting spells, and much more!
This is my personal grimoire, and I included everything that I consider important for my craft. You will learn the basic principles of the craft and how to incorporate them into your life. At the end of each chapter, you will find a section titled Things I Wish Somebody Had Told Me, where you will find my personal advice and anecdotes to help you as you find and travel your own path.

Pagans have practiced witchcraft since ancient times, but, sadly, witchcraft is a misunderstood practice in todays society. The way witches are represented in pop culture is pretty distant from reality, and there have been several attempts by some religions to erase pagan rituals altogether.
In this universe, we are all connected through invisible and multidimensional links. You can imagine this as a network of invisible threads that join every spirit, including yours. Magick creates new patterns in this network, generating subtle changes in our destiny.

Yes, absolutely. Each person has the necessary elements within themselves to practice witchcraft. Some people are born with special abilities that make it easier for them to practice witchcraftbut all those skills can be developed with dedication and the right techniques.
In the end, witchcraft is a choice. If you are born into a family of witches and decide not to practice, you are not a witch. If you arent born into a family of witches but you do decide to practice, you are a witch.
Witchcraft doesnt belong to any particular group. That said, some cultures and religions include witchcraft in their practices, and witchcraft is deeply enmeshed in their broader belief systems. As witches, we need to show respect for these traditions and not appropriate or borrow the rituals for our own use (see Smoke Cleansing vs. Smudging shown ).
Paganism is an umbrella term for different religions that worship the earth and ancient deities.
Wicca is a neo-pagan religion. It has some rules, rituals, and ethics to follow, such as the Wheel of the Year (see ) and the Wiccan rede, or moral code: An ye harm none, do what ye will.
Witchcraft is a practice. It is a tool that can be used as you prefer, guided by your own morals and ethics. You dont need to be Wiccan to practice witchcraft. And, in some branches of Wicca, you dont need to practice witchcraft to be Wiccan.
To simplify it, all Wiccans are pagans, but not all pagans are Wiccans. Most Wiccans are witches, but not all witches are Wiccans. Some pagans are witches, and some witches are pagans.
There are many paths out there. I encourage you to explore your spirituality. Find what you are drawn to and follow the path that best suits you.
No. By definition, a coven is a group of witches who voluntarily practice together following specific rules. There are different types of covens drawing upon different traditions, and, as with any activity group, they also depend on the personalities of the members. Belonging to a coven is a personal decision that works for some witches and doesnt work for others. There are pros and cons to both options.
Keep in mind that choosing the solitary path does not mean always being alone. There are open circles that welcome solitary witches to celebrate rituals or sabbats. And you can always have witchy friends and learn and practice with them without having to be in a coven.
