ROSEMARY ELLEN GUILEY, author of Guide to Psychic Protection

Working Conjure is a blessing. With the increasing commodification of African American and African Diasporic traditions, books about our practices that are simple, direct, and useful seem few and far between. Hoodoo Sen Moise manages to balance a solid delivery on the practice of Conjure with just enough theory to create a foundation to do this spiritual workwhich is not, as he also reminds us, spiritual easyand to continue the work given to us by our ancestors to heal each other and the world we share.

MAMBO CHITA TANN, author of Haitian Vodou

We're very blessed to have such great knowledge of the traditional way of doing Hoodoo Conjure, as you'll find in Working Conjure, an understanding workbook of the Hoodoo Conjure tradition that also teaches it's true history. All who read it are truly blessed with great knowledge. I highly recommend Working Conjure to anyone who is starting out or is already an advanced worker. Be blessed.

PAYSHENCE SMITH, of the Rev. Payshence Spiritual Ministry

LELIA MARINO of Ms. Rain's Conjure Shop

I was excited to read Sen Moise's new book Working Conjure. The book is clear, direct, and much needed in the world of Hoodoo and Conjure. Sen Moise tells it like it is and brings good insight and history into the hows and whys of the tradition, putting to rest a lot of inaccuracies floating around in these days of internet experts. Now there is a book that speaks clearly to those wishing to know more about authentic Hoodoo and Conjure.

CANDELO KIMBISA, Spiritualist radio personality and host of Candelo's Corner, America's longest running Palo Mayomb talk show.

With all the passion and fire of a tent revival preacher, Hoodoo Sen Moise welcomes us into the spirit-filled world of Conjuremagical practices rooted in Africa and drawing from the roots and herbs of the new world that helped an oppressed people to create change in the face of subjugation. Sen Moise tells the story of this mysterious practice and how it has evolved into a uniquely American cultural practicewith Christian, Jewish, and Native American influences peppered into the pot. But the story is just the beginning. Working Conjure is, at its core, a most practical book on the magic of Conjure: the powers of the roots, herbs, and spirits and many simple yet powerful ways that you can make these ingredients work in your daily lifeand there are a few that I can't wait to try myself!

CHRISTIAN DAY, author of The Witches' Book of the Dead and cohost of HexFest and Festival of the Dead

Hoodoo Sen Moise has conjured some of his best magick in this book. Working Conjure is great for all spellcasters, from the novice to the elite.

This book is dedicated to the Ancestors and the sacrifices they made so that we all can be standing where we are right now. The love, wisdom, and guidance of those who came before me give everything and for that I am truly grateful.

CONTENTS
INTRODUCTION
A Day in the Life of a Conjure Man

On a cool autumn day in Georgia, the leaves of the trees were turning from green to orange and gold, while some were transitioning to brown. Both the trees and the surrounding area were truly beautiful to behold. A nice breeze shuffled the leaves that had already fallen.

As evening approached, the sun began to work its way down to allow for night to begin. The potent transformation of light to dark was startingthe time when spirits are awakening. The day is for the living and the night is for the dead, you see. After the sun was gone, a man dressed in dark-colored pants and a red shirt approached the graveyard next to one of the local churches. This man had a cigar in his left hand, a bottle of whiskey in his right, and his head was covered with a navy blue cloth. This was a Conjure man or Hoodoo man. Conjure and Hoodoo are terms that have become synonymous with one another and can be used interchangeably.
