Steven A. Key, in a former technological life, had a career taming the largest computer systems in the worldthose mysterious mainframes. Now, he writes mysterious books. As a deep-researching computerist and technocrat, he was readily primed to combine his investigative skills with his deep personal interests in all things pertaining to Body-Mind and Spirit.

Combining unique approaches to neuroscience, psychology, consciousness, and ancient history, Steven created the New Muse Book Series. His initial book, The Vikings Secret Yoga; The Supreme Adventure, is the first book of its kind in that it reveals the hidden Yoga of the tenth-century Norse poets. Ancient Shock, the 3rd New Muse book, reveals our hidden history, being comprised of Neanderthal-Sapiens ancestors, from which our own DNA and culture spring.

Introduction

It was in a hot, humid Orlando, Florida where I first began my career in writing, in July of 2012, that special cosmic year of endings and beginnings.

In the sunroom, I built myself a very large desk, which quickly became covered with research papers, and this book, which came to be titled as Mystic Universe ~ The Colors of Mind in the Garden of Knowledge ~ Ancient and Modern Discoveries of the Self , became the authors first attempt to express his own, early, New Muse-style of knowledge.

This book does not present the usual information concerning neurology, neuroscience, biology, and ancient history, but rather presents poignant new ideas and areas of potential research for the readers consideration.

New Muse knowledge is well researched and provocative. Many new groundbreaking patterns are observed in Mystic Universe, published as Book IV of the series, which were previously unseen by both the public and academic eye, as in the case of the first three (3) New Muse books.

As an example, in Book I, The Vikings Secret Yoga, new revelations are seen in the 10th century Norse lore, after being hidden by poetic encryption, for over 1,000 years.

In Part I, The Making of the Mind; Our Wisdom Body, a deep, intriguing, look into the Self as our mysterious, energetic nature is undertaken, by pursuing the orchestrated, integrated wisdom of the whole body, not just the cranial brain.

This endlessly remarkable, deep intelligence was well known to ancient peoples and has been smeared and obscured by modern science.

Now, however, according to neuropsychologist Iain McGilChrist, et al., the relentless, disturbing influence of our unbalanced neural makeup, including the burgeoning sciences running at breakneck speed, is shown to be strongly affecting our global culture and the direction of civilization.

Each of us is a true marvel of rigorous neuron-interactions, expressed in a pulsing, electromagnetic fashion. And... this was meant to be so; we are meant to be here.

From our head to our heart, gut, and blood, Part I discusses a living, miraculous, neural presence in the body, and relates how our own particular, unique evolution is but a tiny aspect of a greater Universal Mind.

You are not a human being in search of a spiritual experience.

You are a spiritual being immersed in a human experience.

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

In revealing segments such as Musica Universalis and Astrological-Physics - photo 4

In revealing segments such as Musica Universalis and Astrological-Physics, potential new scientific connections can be seen, between the sun, planets... and the human psyche. These subtle, mysterious connections were known by the ancients, such as the Chinese Masters:

Music in the Soul can be heard by the Universe.

Lao Tzu

In Part II, The Colors of Mind in Ancient Times , examples are given showing how ancient peoples, ranging from medieval Arabia to the Aztecs in 13th century Mesoamerica, knew of a neuro-spiritual process imbedded in their bodies. Also, for the first time in history in over 3,000 years, a neural correlation to the ancient yogic AUM is seen, as a mystical neuropsychology of the human yet spiritual Self.

In the European Renaissance, did a shrewd and wise Michelangelo really encrypt hidden neural information in his famous artwork upon the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, and thus avoided the wrath of his patrons, the church fathers? Yes, indeed.

Going further back into the dim mists of prehistoric times, we find the 12,000-year-old Shigir Idol, as the worlds oldest wooden sculpture, is approximately the same age as the large archaeological site in Turkey, at Gbekli Tepe. Both were created after the most recent Ice Age.

Does the mysterious seventeen-foot-tall idol contain secret messages, carvings, and face-markings, strongly suggesting an ancient, shamanistic type of internal body-knowledge, as a primordial awareness of Self?

Know the Empire of Thy Self.

Pythagoras

The Philosophy of Psyche

Butterflies are Free to Fly

In the ancient Greece of Plato and Aristotle the word psyche held a dual - photo 5

In the ancient Greece of Plato and Aristotle, the word psyche held a dual meaning; one could be referring to a nearby fluttering butterfly or to the deeper nature of the soul-mind. The Greeks learned much from the hoary Egyptians, who favored the spiritual analogy of butterflies being reborn from the chrysalis, as representing the evolving Soul.

One can imagine millions of butterflies hovering above the Nile River during its seasonal floods in ancient Egypt. There are numerous hieroglyphs and images depicting butterflies sprinkled liberally on the inner walls of their ancient tombs and buildings. Art in ancient Egypt was not simply decorative and aesthetic but also extremely symbolic.
