The Mafia Wasnt Mentioned In The Film, The Godfather, Once.
According to TVOM, as one of the best movies of all time, directed by Francis Ford Coppola in 1992, The Godfather was the first film in history to make just over a million dollars a day.
It is the one movie that changed the experience of the cinema forever. In all its glory, it won three out of eleven Oscar nominations, which is quite impressive for a film based on a controversial establishment of criminals in the 1900s.
Even though the movie is nearly three hours long, throughout the movie, the word mafia, isnt even mentioned once.
The irony is that the mafia is all the movie was about. Was the absence of this word intentional or a coincidence?
Well, most lean more towards intentional because of the mafia itself. When Paramount Pictures announced that the movie was based on Mario Puzos best-selling novel, The Godfather , needless to say, the Italian-American Civil Rights League wasnt impressed.
The powerful political group, which was managed by Joseph Columbo, the boss of the entire Colombo crime family, had one purpose in mind, which was to fight against any potential stereotypes derived about Italian-Americans.
They were desperate and determined to have the movie completely halted, and they proceeded by launching an intimidation campaign against the producer, Albert S. Ruddy, along with Paramount executive, Robert Evans, and the films director, Francis Ford Coppola.
Evans soon received threats, with some threatening to hurt both him and his newborn unless he removed all mentions of the word mafia from the script, author of The Godfather Effect. Since the word mafia was only mentioned in the script once, it was removed.
They also removed the phrase Cosa Nostra, which was another name for the mafia. Albert Ruddy also promised all the proceeds of the films premiere would be donated to the Italian-American Civil Rights Leagues hospital building fund, which placed them in the clear from any potential danger from the mafia. Joseph Colombo agreed to the terms.
However, even after the agreement, some people werent pleased with the public campaign Colombo waged against the film, which led to Colombos death in 1971.
He was left paralyzed by a hitman after receiving a warning from Frank Castello, the head of the Luciano crime family, along with Carlo Gambino, the head of the Gambino crime family. Colombo died seven years later in 1978.

President Trumps Car Only Has One Window.
According to The Sun, the latest U.S. presidential car, dubbed The Beast, costs just over $1 million, and makes up one of twelve presidential cars for President Donald Trump.
The limousine weighs 9 tons and has 8-inch-thick doors made out of steel, which is equivalent to the doors on a 757 passenger jet. The Beast is best described as a luxury limousine combined with the defense elements of a tank and was built on a medium-duty truck platform.
Apart from having incredible defense capabilities, it can also launch attacks. It has tear gas launcher steel-rimmed tires, an armor-plated fuel tank, as well as pump-action shotguns stored inside the shell of the vehicle. It additionally has life-saving medical equipment for emergency purposes, which includes blood that is suitable for the presidents blood type, should it be required.
The car is hermetically sealed and has its own environmental system onboard, all equipped with an oxygen supply, which could prevent damage in the case of a chemical attack. There are no keyholes in the cars doors, as it is designed to only be opened by secret service agents traveling with the president.
Although it has several windows, only one window can open, which is the one on the drivers side door. This is for both additional safety purposes and to pay tolls when traveling.

The Electric Pen Was The First Tattoo Machine Invented.
According to ThoughCo., the first-ever electric tattoo machine dates back to the late 1800s, 1892 to be exact.
It was called the Electric Pen, and was discovered by a tattoo artist, Samuel OReilly. The tattoo device was invented by the sought-after Thomas A. Edison in 1876.
It was designed as part of a document duplication system that was used by businesses.
These businesses used it as a high-speed reciprocating motor to drive an individual needle without using ink.
Instead, it used perforated holes to make a perfect form, which then became a stencil. It was designed to let ink roll onto all of the pens surface, passing through holes to make copies onto blank sheets placed underneath the stencil.
Modifying Edisons invention, O'Reilly added multiple needles, along with an ink reservoir, which earned him a U.S. patent.
The electric device was referred to as revolutionary and acknowledged as an extremely innovative device that opened the door to over a century of development in the tattoo industry.
