Before formal analytic analysis, before formal scientific methods, peopleasked questions about reality and focused on observations of the world andon subjective experience. Theories of outer and inner reality were a part ofevery culture and every spiritual tradition. From the perspective of contemporaryWestern science, many of these systems are hard to understand andintegrate with our worldview. In particular, systems that use and incorporatesubjective experience may seem intuitively powerful, yet they remaindifficult to integrate into our sense of reality and are therefore difficultto believe. Candice Covington does a brilliant job of explaining Vedicunderstanding and the five elements and integrating this worldview withcontemporary archetypal psychology and contemporary scientific thinking. This is a good and powerful read. Foreword

It is well established that who we really are is not only the physical molecules that make up our body but also the energy that suffuses our being and expresses itself through our thoughts and feelings. Ultimately, we are the awareness of our physical sensations and thoughts. Studies in neuroscience have shown that we can influence our cells (and thus our physical body) by applying electromagnetic fields to the body and that our own body maintains subtle energy fields that can be influenced by our thoughts and intentions. An imbalance in any layer of our existence can cause disruption in the entire system. In other words, an imbalance in the subtle energy body can cause both emotional turbulence and physical illness. In my practice as a medical doctor, I have often come across situations where the solution did not lie at the level of biomolecules or matter. Before developing an understanding of ourselves as fields of energy and awareness, I had nothing to offer patients to further their healing if medications or medical procedures didnt work. In this book the author offers an approach to healing that addresses the subtle layer of who we are: a field of energy, one that can be influenced by the vibrational and energetic qualities of nature. She gives us the information and tools to address the root cause of our imbalances and maximize our healing abilities.

In the typical Western medical model we use a very Newtonian, mechanistic viewpoint of who we are, which is only an approximation of reality, and ultimately an illusion. This approach to healing does not give us access to the myriad healing modalities that influence the subtler nature of who we are. This is why I see so many patients who have been to doctor after doctor only to become more confused, and often more sick, in the end. A new paradigm of healing is emerging in which we can address our underlying energy fields, below our physical/cellular domain. As we shift from a material, Newtonian paradigm toward a more holistic viewpoint, we gain access to powerful forms of energetic healing.

In this book a gifted healer describes an ancient method of energy healing in a way that anyone can understand. She beautifully lays out the theory and rationale behind the use of essential oils, tattvas, and divine archetypes. This method does not directly address our physical body, as Western medicine does, but instead engages our subtle energy body. Healers have used this type of energy healing for millennia to remove obstructions that have gotten in the way of us experiencing our true, balanced nature. These time-tested methods provide us with a system of subtle energy medicine that can encourage deep healing and vibrant well-being.

When I first met Candice, I was familiar with the theories of our underlying nature of vibration and energy, but through her work with essential oils and tattvas, I was able to experience firsthand the power of our internal energies. Since experiencing this healing modality myself, I have begun offering it to my own patients, and I can see the transformation that happens when we begin to affect the deepest layers of who we are.

With extensive research, self-study, and personal experience, a gifted and knowledgeable alchemist gives readers a practical guide toward applying energetic healing through essential oils, tattvas, and divine archetypes to foster their own healing. If you are feeling stuck in your healing process, I encourage you to use this guide as a way to move toward your natural state of wholeness, health, and happiness.
