We dedicate this book to our grandchildren Toni, Taylor, Bobby and Sophia; Vincent, Thomas, Michael, and Gianna; Rachel and Joshua; and Damian. May their lives continue to be led by their love for Yahweh.
Acknowledgments
Many thanks to our friends Olga and Dave Gawronski who took the time to explain the importance of calling our Father in Heaven by his proper nameYahweh. Also, thank you to Rabbi Mathew Carroll who was our Saturday mentor in studies of the Torah and its importance to Christianity. Thanks go to our friend Sharzay for his beautiful original artistic rendering of President Trump. We also appreciate the help of our daughters who commented on our manuscript. We also would like to acknowledge brother- and sister-in-law Raymond and Carol Mascarelli, who have spent endless hours arguing against some of Bobs theories, which proves to us that there is room in the faith for different beliefs as long as our hearts are united in our love and worship of Jesus.
We are thankful also, for all the help given to us by to our Literary Coordinator Adam Mellott at Christian Faith Publishing, for coordinating all the factors that went into the production of this book.
Preface
Preface Yahweh
Who is Yahweh? Who is the God of the Old Testament, who is known to many as the Warrior God, or the God of Armies? Is he our benevolent eternal father, or is he a punishing God who does not hesitate to command the destruction of men, their wives and children, and even their livestock? How can we reconcile this murderous God with our loving father who sent us Jesus and the Holy Spirit to guide us into His ways and ultimately into His heavenly kingdom? How can we understand Him in a world that is increasingly filled with violence and injustice such as illnesses, wars, calamities, premature death, and birth disorders?
The keys to the character of God are apparent to those whose eyes have been opened to his mysteries, but not at all obvious to those who are unbelievers, agnostics, or skeptics. Admittedly, the secrets to revealing the true nature of God are readily available through churches and reading the Bible and extra Biblical texts, particularly those that were unveiled through the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls. There are also other materials available, revealed through historians, the writings of learned rabbis, ministers and spiritual teachers, but they must be sought after for their knowledge to be obtained.
I am writing from my singular point of view regarding my theories on such God-related matters in order to give the reader a quick study on why our God cannot be blamed for all the evil in this world, evil which can rightly be attributed to the interference of the fallen angels in human affairs. It examines the reasons why God created the universe to be home to a people who were created to be his people, who would live according to his laws, and who would live with him eternally. It explains why God cannot interfere with human affairs and how it is our personal responsibility to accept Him and choose Him over the world.
I maintain that the reasons for all of the failures of mankind go back to a time before Adam and Eve, the great flood, and Noahs offsprings re-population of the earth. It goes back to the time of Satan and his loyal angels who were removed from heaven by God and who made earth their dwelling place, and the great cosmic conflict that has permeated the earth since that day.
One thing that God made evident from the start of his relationship with Adam was that he does not condone disobedience. Why should he when he created a covenant with mankind that gives us his whole beautiful world to enjoy? All God asked in exchange for His gift of life, not just life, but the promise of eternal life, was mans loyalty and obedience to his law. But, Satan who was present on the earth since his fall from heaven, revealed himself to Eve as a serpent (dragon) to deceive Eve and Adam into disobeying his one law, which was not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
We will try to prove the love that God has for His creation through the Bible and certain Dead Sea scrolls that have not been available to us until recently, and also other histories contemporary to biblical history.
I hope that the reader will be left with the knowledge that God is indeed a God of love and kindness, and that the door is open to all humankind to find themselves enveloped into a loving relationship with Him, which will endure throughout eternity.
Let people not blame him for the illnesses of this world, but instead, praise Him for his steadfastness in his love for us.
Introduction
(Most Bible quotes are from the New American Standard Version of the Bible)
I grew up as a Catholic, a nominal one at that. I cannot recall my parents ever going to church except for childrens confirmations and relatives weddings. I celebrated Christmas and Easter, but primarily ignored all the tenets of the Catholic faith. I habitually do attend Midnight Mass on Christmas, however, because I enjoy my Childhood memories. During my adulthood investigations concerning religion, I have visited Synagogues, and attended many Protestant Churches of different denominations, along with many Bible studies. I also studied with a Messianic Rabbi for three years, who introduced me to some of the intricacies of Kabbalah, and I have joined in many Passover celebrations in Jewish homes.
Until I was about forty-five years old, I was pretty much an agnostic, but I admittedly had some questions that needed answers, particularly since so many people in my family were committed to a faith, including my wife Gloria who was a Messianic believer. In my arrogance, I figured out how to test God to prove he was really there. I asked, or I should say, I demanded that God answer the questions that I posed to him in a direct and recognizable way. As an agnostic, I really did not believe I would get an answer, so I felt I could demand anything I wanted. I was very surprised that I began to get answers, and that encouraged me to get even bolder with my requests. So I demanded and demanded and demanded. I only did this because my family encouraged me to ask, telling me that I then would receive the answers I desired. So I asked. I was going along with an increasingly positive feeling about him, acting according to what I thought were his instructions for my life; when suddenly, I got a phone call one evening telling me that my mentally ill nineteen-year-old daughter, who was a patient at a New Orleans Mental Hospital, had just committed suicide. She was on a one to one watch and no one could explain to me how she could have possibly hung herself with a bed sheet in the shower, since she went into the room with only a towel.
My instantaneous reaction to the news was a mixture of tears and anger filled with intentions to sue the hospital. Normally, I would be relentless in pursuing the reasons for her death, but God immediately intervened by filling my life with miracles that were delivered by both visible and invisible means. The miracles were so obvious to me, and those around me, that I knew for certain that my daughter was in his hands, safe and happy and out of the torment that led her to suicide. I quickly began to feel joy instead of sorrow at her death. I have described some of the miracles that occurred in a book written by my wife and myself titled, The Prayer Connection , by Miracle Book Publishers.
