DEDICATION
To the apostle Paul, for speaking in tongues more than me.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
To Daniel Paravisini: Thank you for running with me and carrying this message with me over the last couple of years. I couldnt have done it without you.
To Jane Harris: Thank you for all of your tireless labor in compiling all of my notes, all of my thoughts, and being so patient with me throughout this entire process. You are a gift sent from God.
ENDORSEMENTS
Amazingly, the apostle Paul said, I pray in tongues more than you all. Why? Why such a boast? There must have been some outrageous power and blessing in it for the greatest apostle to herald it. And if so there must be a great recovery of that ancient tongue of fire. My friend, Corey Russell, puts a compelling demand on that recovery in this book. Its not just words. For four years Ive watched this mans prayer life, with many tongues in the Spirit leading to the mighty tongues of fire on his own life.

Founder of The Call
The interior life is the most crucial and yet one of the most ignored aspects of the Christian life. If we as the Church are to fully shine in a dark world we can no longer ignore our interior life and must fully embrace the power of the Holy Spirit available to us. In The Glory Within , Corey Russell calls us to a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit to unlock the strength available to all believers. God has raised up Corey as a voice to a generation and has anointed him to call the Church to experience the fullness of God. His teaching comes not from just theory but from a life lived in the secret place on a journey to discover the majesty and greatness of God.

Corey Russell is a dear friend and close companion whose life I have closely observed for the last 11 years, and if theres anything that emanates from his life, its friendship with Holy Spirit. He has consistently prioritized the size of his heart over the size of his ministry, and it is precisely this heart posture that will be entrusted with the nations in the coming days. This book contains more than good principles to aid your quiet times, but is a treasure given from a father on how to deeply know God. While reading this book, I was brought into times of deep communion, profound revelation, and a fresh hunger and urgency in my life to prioritize extended times of praying in the Holy Spirit. I wholeheartedly endorse this man of God and this book to you. I believe that its these ancient paths of deep communion with Holy Spirit that will prepare this generation for the coming days of global glory and crisis.

Corey Russell is a man of prayer. For years he has spent many hours a day praying and as he has sought the face of God, he has discovered the power of a specific form of prayer: speaking in tongues. The explosive power of praying in tongues is unlocked in each chapter of Coreys book. If you want to speak mysteries to God (see 1 Cor. 14:2) or need power in your inner man (see 1 Cor. 14:4), then this book is for you!

CONTENTS
The greatest need of the hour in the Church is a call to the Body of Christ with a vision to go deep in God. We are living in the midst of a culture in the Church that has traded depth for width in regards to spirituality. We have defined success as the number of people who attend our services on Sunday, and the amount of money in our bank accounts, while our individual lives, marriages, and families are deteriorating all around us. A.W. Tozers quote in Knowledge of the Holy , which was written 60 years ago, still rings true today: We have lost our spirit of worship and our ability to withdraw inwardly to meet God in adoring silence.
Modern Christianity is simply not producing the kind of Christian who can appreciate or experience the life in the Spirit. The words, Be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10a), mean next to nothing to the self-confident, bustling worshiper.
This loss of the concept of majesty has come just when the forces of religion are making dramatic gains and the churches are more prosperous than at any time within the past several hundred years. But the alarming thing is that our gains are mostly external and our losses wholly internal. And since it is the quality of our religion that is affected by internal conditions, it may be that our supposed gains are but losses spread over a wider field.
Its in the midst of days like these that God raises up voices that call the Church back to her first love of intimacy with God and focus on the interior life so that once again, our lives would emanate the life of Christ. Corey Russell is one of these voices. Corey has been on the senior leadership team at IHOP (International House of Prayer) for the last 11 years. His messages on the knowledge of God and intimacy with God carry authority and clarity.
They are challenging and provoking to all who hear him. His leadership in the house of prayer, in our school, at our conferences, and abroad continually imparts and equips all who hear him in the call to go deep in God.
