ENDORSEMENTS
Corey Russell is one of the most genuine men I have ever met. He lives to see Jesus glorified and for people to experience God in the great way we were intended to from the beginning. Teach Us to Pray is an amazing tool in helping us understand what it means to seek the Father. We are called to be people that seek Him always! This book walks that out in an amazingly in-depth way.

There are few people on the planet that embody the message of intimacy and intercession like Corey Russell. He carries the fiery, prophetic anointing of a modern-day Jeremiah calling the Church back to prayer in the secret place. I am so glad he has written this book, Teach Us to Pray, that will serve as a battle plan for a new generation of hungry and thirsty God-seekers.

Now, more than ever, the broader body of Christ is recognizing the crucial importance of prayer. We are realizing how desperately we need to learn how to pray and this book is an answer to those desperate pleas. Teach Us to Pray is the heart cry of the church and were so grateful for faithful intercessors like Corey Russell who are pouring out all theyve learned through decades of steadfast prayer.
This book is for those who refuse to go back to normal. It is for those who know theres more than what theyve seen in western Christian culture; those unafraid to strip back the many things we thought were so valuable and make space in their days at the feet of Jesus. This is honestly one of the best books on prayer weve ever read. The times are urgent and this book is right on time.

Corey Russells life pursuit and life message is summed up in the title of his latest book Teach Us to Pray. For over 20 years, few have pursued a lifestyle of prayer like Corey. His messages on prayer are awakening a generation to the power and simplicity of devoting our lives to the feet of Jesus. This one pursuit is the key to any and every other pursuit. I am forever grateful for the eternal impact of Corey upon my life and the community that I lead.

FOREWORD
WE LIVE IN CONFUSING AND URGENT TIMES.
Followers of Jesus face a constant barrage of cultural forces and external crisis that threaten to derail the Church from her calling and identity. We are seeing an increase in secularism in our time that seeks with ever-increasing force to push faith and Christ out of the public square and consciousness.
We are seeing a rise in worldliness inside the Church, as things other generations viewed as sins are being recategorized as lifestyle choices. Every major Christian denomination in the United States is in serious decline, and we seem to stand by helplessly as another generation chooses to walk away from faith. One recent study found that in the next 30 years, 50 percent of the churches in the US will close, and over 42 million young people will walk away from the Church.
How did it come to this? Where do we go from here? How can you and I respond as followers of Jesus with both faithfulness and fruitfulness?
Some people believe the answer is purely theological. If we just had a more educated Church with doctrinal strength we could fend off the decline. But we have more theological training and resources than the early Church could comprehend. Will another class or seminar bring the intimacy and power we ache for?
Some believe the solution is political. We need to fight for a return to our sacred past and reclaim the highest courts and offices of our land. As good as this may be, we cannot legislate love for Jesus in the heart. We have had more political and cultural power than those in the persecuted Church could fathom and yet our love grows cold.
Other believe we need to work harder. We are simply a lazy Church. If we really poured ourselves out with renewed discipline, we could make a change. Yet the current Church has more programs and initiatives and offerings than other generations could conceive of. There are alarming rates of pastoral and volunteer burnout today.
The truth is we have not rightly diagnosed our condition, or discerned the root of the problem. We are missing both the threat and opportunity of our time. As the prophet Jeremiah lamented, They offer superficial treatments for my peoples mortal wound. The true response to the moment is first and foremost a response to a person, not a problem. We dont need more ideas about what we should do, we need deeper intimacy with the one who holds wisdom and power and knowledge in His hand.
Thats why Coreys book is so timely, and so important. Corey calls us back to the things of first importance and the true solution to the powerlessness we feel in our own lives and the Church at large. Corey has taken all he has learned in a 20-year journey of intimacy with God and has given us deep revelation from the secret place. These are not ideas or insights from the Bible, the Spirit has written these on his heart and they will bleed from the pages of this book and into your life.
Reading this book made me weep for fresh hunger for God and stirred my spirit to seek Him with a new level of desperation and intensity. This book has the potential to help you recover and the Church discover the reality and possibility of a genuine awakening in the Church and renewal in our world in these crucial days.
