I often think about men and the issues we have. After many years spent counseling men, studying the Word of God, and cultivating my own development into real manhood, I am finally writing a book for men and about men. I am going to dig deep and take an unflinching look at the state of manhood. I believe there has been a calculated assault on manhood in modern society, which is why we are experiencing a generation of fatherless young men who are struggling to find their significance. Sexual promiscuity, violence, drug abuse, insecurity, depression, suicidal ideation, and lack of preparedness for the future are all symptoms of a deeper issue.

I want to point out that I didnt write this book to say there are no more good men. Thats a lie. There are many good men. Neither did I write this book to beat up on men and tear them down any more than they already have been. Instead, I wrote this book by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to affect the man who knows he has not yet become what he was meant to be. We can be better than we are. Yet the world and the lies of the enemy have convinced many men that they are stuck. Its all simply untrue. It reminds me of an old quote I heard, You cant keep a man down who has in him the yeast to rise.

God never creates a man for a life of disappointment and struggle. He created us to dominate and to be a reflection of Himself in the earth. And since God never loses, we are not supposed to lose either.

Were going to go on this journey together. Were going to look at the intent God had in mind when he decided to create a man. We must do this. The Bible says If the foundations are removed, what can the righteous do? So we are going to return to the source and gain Gods vision for our lives as men.

However, I want to warn you. In order for us to go higher together, we are going to have to shine the light on every issue, sin, hurt, pain, fear, excuse, religious tradition, failure, and negative thought. Then we must have the courage to believe we have the ability to go beyond the limitations of our past. God has given us His grace, in order to be the men Hes called us to be. This grace goes beyond just forgiveness of our sins. This grace is the very power of God that enables us to be strong men when we are weak in our own ability. And believe me, we need God in order to be real men. Therefore, I encourage you to let that truth ring loud on the inside of you right now. Also, before you turn the page and go further in this book, I want you to understand that only a man who relies on God is a real man. A man becomes a man when he realizes he, in and of himself, is weak and needs God to do what only He can do.

So Im excited about your discovering what God has already completed and made available for your life. You no longer have to be discouraged, because everything you need has already been provided. You simply have to take a step of faith to receive the vision God has for your life. I promise you wont regret it.
