    Authors Acknowledgments

When you look at the works of C.S. Lewis, you can see the influence that other people authors, colleagues, and friends had on his writing. I feel much the same about C.S. Lewis & Narnia For Dummies. There are several people that Id like to acknowledge who helped shape and guide this book, sometimes directly and sometimes indirectly.

Three other authors contributed their expertise to this book. Id like to express my thanks to them for their involvement and acknowledge their contributions:

David Gentleman (Anna Marie College) wrote Chapters 15 and 18, focusing on Mere Christianity and Lewiss perspective on major topics.

Dr. Ian C. Storey (Trent University) is an expert on Till We Have Faces and as such wrote Chapter 14.

Dr. Amy Vail (Baylor University) wrote Chapter 12 on the Space Trilogy.

I would also like to thank several others who were involved in this project. I must begin with the editing team: Chrissy Guthrie, for her masterful job of handling the project and her keen instinct for knowing what was essential and not so essential to include in the book; Elizabeth Rea, for her editing prowess and for ensuring that the text spoke well to modern readers; and Dr. Dave Neuhouser, for his thoughtful insights and ever-watchful eye that ensured the accuracy of all things Lewis.

Thanks also go to Kathy Cox for working with me for over 18 months to get this project off the ground.

My good friends Flip and Cherri Burrer deserve special mention as being the people who suggested this book idea in the first place. (You never know whats going to happen if you give me a book idea.)

Finally, my wife and boys were far more than just spectators in the writing of this book. Their zeal and interest in seeing this book come to fruition was such an encouragement throughout the writing process. Kimberly is always the first person to proof my chapters and provides the feedback that I trust the most. My boys were my in-house Narnia fanatics who continually tried to stump me with Narnia trivia. (Sorry boys, your dad is just too good!)
