You hold in your hands a trustworthy map for navigating a life lived in integrity with your soul. Trustworthy because its author, Tonya Pinkins, has practiced every method she recommends. In my own work, I have long taught that thoughtbeing a unit of mental energytransmutes itself into tangible form as circumstances, symptoms, health, creative endeavor, prosperity, and relationship, impacting virtually all aspects of life as we know it. Since Tonya has been a member of my spiritual community for a number of years, I have had the privilege of witnessing how she has evolved in her practice of working with the power of thought, which today qualifies her to assist those who wish to enrich their own life experience.
Tonya compassionately assists her readers in cultivating an honest relationship with themselves on spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical levels of existence. Individual responsibility is inescapable for those who sincerely want to drop the drama and embrace the dharma, as she poignantly puts it. The exercises she has created are practical and their results provable, dissolving barriers to the happiness that is the birthright of all humankind.
There is an evolution of consciousness taking place on the planet that we have never before experienced. Even popular news magazines headline about breakthrough discoveries connecting thought and matter, consciousness beyond mind, prayer and healing, and spiritual inclinations built right into our DNA. In Tonyas book, we are provided with an opportunity to experiment in the laboratory of our own consciousness and prove that we are not merely bystanders in life, that indeed we have the capacity to consciously cocreate our lives in alignment with the spiritual and scientific findings of our lifetime and to realize the interconnection of all life, the great something out of which we and our universe have been birthed.

Life is often much more simple than we describe it. Love is often much more sacred than we experience it. People are often much more helpful than we give them gratitude for. We are much less alone than we ever imagine and far more unique than our wildest dreams.
May this book, penned by a living saint, reach first your hands, second your heart, and third your world. And may the great goodness you seek reach its fullest potential as simply and sacredly as the river takes on the beauty of the forest she traverses and carries its mystery in the reflection of her waters.
Simple and Sacred ~

If I can set you on the path to creating what you want right now, would you be interested in that?
Yes, or Yes?
If I can set you on the path to receiving more of everything youve ever wanted, would you be interested in that?
Yes, or Yes?
Good.
When you internally answered yes to those two questions, your transformation began. You consciously set your intention to do/be/have more. Did you know that 80 percent of success is simply showing up? And here you are. So congratulate yourself for taking the first step in creating the life that you desire and deserve.
I appreciate the time you have taken out of your busy schedule. Technology, far from making our lives easier, has simply shown us how much more we can do with the time we have. Yet most of us are still playing catch-up. So I am honored that you pausedbetween the e-mails and the pagers and the cell phones and the children and the education and the career and the relationshipsto read this manual. I said manual, not book. Manuals provide instructions on how to make things work, and thats exactly what, by purchasing this manual, you showed up to do: to make your life work. You want something different; you want something better; you want something more. I give you my commitment to provide you with the most beneficial knowledge that I have received, which enabled me to go from welfare to millionaire in one year.
But please dont believe a word I say. Got any idea why I would tell you that after you just spent twenty-some dollars for this manual?
I say it because all I can do, all any of us can do, is share what we know, and live.
I can feel some of you wiggling. Oh God, what is this? Ive got enough experience of my own. I could be getting some work done, or at least watching TV. So let me start by sharing with you the three most dangerous words in the English language. Got any ideas? They are:
I know that
Why would that be so bad? You know a lot of stuff. When you responded Yes to my two enrolling questions, you placed your foot on the path toward something. I know that stops you dead in your tracks.
Why?
Because when we think we know something, we shut down. We turn our attention off. We dont receive what is being offered to us. And I gave you my commitment that you are going to begin receiving more of everything you desire. So the first step is to disable the parts of you that hinder, block, or obstruct the expression of the intentions you have now set for yourself.
Yes, you say, but I do know many things.
Do you really?
Knowing is living. If your life is not a moment-to-moment practice of the things you say you know, then you dont really know it; you simply
Read it
Can recite it
Saw it on TV
Knowing is a profound experience beyond words.
I am writing this book because, twelve years ago, I thought I knew it all. In fact, I had achieved the highest dreams Id set for myself. I had just won the Tony award and every other award Broadway has to offer; I had a beautiful mansion, two beautiful children, a great body; a marriage to a man I loved; and a career that showed signs of heading to the outposts of the universe. I had it allor so I thought.
Boom! Within four months, it started to crumble; within three years, I had nothing. I was virtually a homeless single mom struggling to find work and depending on welfare to survive. I have wallowed in bitterness, self-hatred, and blame. I got so sick of myself that I went to see a psychiatrist to help me change my thinking, because I knew I was stuck. You know what happened?
The therapist, bless her, told me she could not help me. She told me my problems were not in my head but in the real world. She told me I needed lawyers and accountants and business managers to solve my woes.
