The creative and brilliantly wired mind of scientist and author Dr. Ski Chilton again boldly explores human behavior potential in his insightful latest book, The ReWired Brain a provocative mental journey.
Charles ( Cash) McCall, MD , professor of translational science and molecular medicine, Wake Forest University School of Medicine
Changehonest, God-honoring changeis difficult! It seems at times the Christian community oscillates between two extremes: religious denial or the insanity of just trying harder to be better. The ReWired Brain instead gives hope and practical insights into how we can get unstuck in life. Using engaging insights from Scripture, neuroscience, and the authors personal struggles, the reader is drawn into the great adventure of becoming like Christ. The book is a rich tapestry of fascinating analogies from contemporary literature, film, and current events that assist the reader in understanding the dynamics of renewing your mind through rewiring. Having spent over thirty years counseling pastors and Christian leaders who were seriously trapped in life, I would strongly recommend this creative contribution to the battle for wholeness and holiness.

Part 1
Reflect
We begin by taking you on a journey to get to know your brainparticularly your two systems of thinking and how they constantly battle for your attention. You will learn what happens when these two forces are not balanced and one dominates the other. By the end of this section, you will be encouraged by the exciting news that regardless of how your brain has been wired to control your behaviors and emotions thus far, it can be changed.
Part 2
Reframe
Here we help you face reality and determine ways to put into perspective and deal with some of the more pressing and specific issues in life. We will begin these explorations by offering a preliminary look at our human condition to help you understand what it means to be human and the importance of morality. Then you will have the opportunity to learn the different approaches many of us take and need to adapt in areas including:
tragedy and trauma
parenting
relationships
sex and intimacy
While we will help you evaluate your behaviors in the different areas of your life, we encourage you to supplement your learning by seeking outside counseling (via a counselor, a professional spiritual advisor like a pastor, a mentor, or a support group) for your areas of intense struggle.
Part 3
Rewire
This section is about recovery. You will find intense and transformative Self -directed and Self -exploratory exercises designed to rewire your mind so you can find true and lasting change well beyond your reading of this book. Please understand that these three chapters offer a preliminary road map for the journey. While they focus on emotional rock bottom, surrender, and forgiveness, this is just a start. As mentioned in part 2, seek outside help in your areas of struggle.
One final thing: because of the intensity of the exercises offered in these final chapters, you will not find reflection questions as in previous chapters.
