I dedicate this book to my fellow soldiers who wage war against falsehood and are attacked by the cancel culture world for speaking truth. I hope that by reading this book, you will be emboldened to calmly stand firm and continue to hold up the Son of God as the embodiment of truth. I pray that you will never waver on this because he has promised us victory over every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God.

Guide
I want to sell books, but I also want to be honest with you: this book may not be for you. If you are comfortable with the current cultural climate that feeds off of anger and personal attacks on others, maybe you should take a pass on reading this book. Or maybe you should read itperhaps it will spark something in you that will help you see that if we continue on this path, America (and the rest of the world) will wind up destroying herself.
On the other hand, if you are one of the millions of Americans who are depressed, frightened, anxious, and a little bit angry about what is currently going on in our beautiful country, I want to speak with you about that because Im with you. I dont like what I see one single bit. Not at all. Like you, Im concerned about what America will become over the next few months and years, and I want to do what I can to help us change course.
I am a patriot, but Im not writing primarily as a patriot. I am first and foremost a follower of Jesus Christ, who died for my sins and was raised from the dead. As a result of the commitment I made to imitate him, I want to make sure I respond to the current political and social climate in the same way he would respond. And thats why Ive written this bookto encourage us all to seek him and his wisdom as we navigate the swamp that our culture is becoming. The argument I make in this book is that we all have two choices. Either we can rely on our own understandingwhich will lead us to more depression, anger, anxiety, and fearor we can seek God and his wisdom. In my humble opinion, thats the only path forward for me. I can find peace nowhere else.
I ve been wandering around this planet for over seventy years. For the first twenty-eight years, I was meandering aimlessly; I had no direction and no endgame in mind. I guess you could say I was just living day to day. I never thought about politics except to pass judgment on politicians. Hey, theyre all alike! Crooked as snakes. I also tried not to think about the Almighty, even though it was difficult to ignore him when I was in his creation pursuing wild game and fish. Instead, I was mainly focused on satisfying the desires of my sinful heart. One more bottle, one more woman, one more jointthats what I thought about.
Still, even though I was oblivious to the direction of politics, religion, and culture, it did not escape my attention in the 1960s that people were in the streets to protest one thing or another. It seemed like the world was on fire. In some cases, it actually was. Cities and college campuses across America were erupting in violent social unrest. Rocks, firebombs, and gunfire threatened to destroy us. Folks seemed more violent and fearful than they had been only a few years earlier.
Looking back, its now obvious that some things just werent right in America. For one thing, we were in a war we werent committed to winning. Our boys were being drafted into the army and sent halfway around the world to lay down their lives, and most of us didnt even know why. Many of you know my brother as Uncle Si, but in the late 1960s, he was just a fresh-faced kid who had the misfortune of having his number selected in the draft lottery. The stories he told about the half-heartedly fought war gave me some insight into why people were reluctant to get behind the effort.
