This guide is full proverbial spells, daily conjurings, and mystical insights designed to help those in search of a little more magic in their day to day life, no complicated spells, expensive accessories, or experience required. Thats the thing about everyday magic: its always within reach, within the self, and in the world. Only not in the way readers might normally think. Its a less mumbling double double toil and trouble over a cauldron and trouble and a more cooking a delicious soup in a beloved cast iron pot. Its simple. Its mundane. Its magic! This book offers grounded mystical practices, including how to turn routines into healing rituals, to teach readers how to connect to themselves, the Universe, and the magic of everyday life. Journey into the realm of pleasure magic, radical self-care, synchronicity, and the profound joy of living a life beyond the expected with this alternative guide to daily mystic practices. After all, true magic is in the everyday.

About the Author

Maria DeBlassie, Ph.D. is a native New Mexican mestiza blogger, award-winning writer, and award-winning educator living in the Land of Enchantment. Her first book, Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings (Moon Books 2018) and her ongoing blog, Enchantment Learning & Living, are about everyday magic, ordinary gothic, and the life of a kitchen witch. When she is not practicing her own brand of brujera, shes reading, teaching, and writing about witchy business, bodice rippers, and things that go bump in the night. She is forever looking for magic in her life and somehow always finding more than she thought was there. Find out more about Maria and conjuring everyday magic at www.mariadeblassie.com.

Conjuring everyday magic is an ongoing process, one that changes with the seasons. Dont hesitate to let go of once-meaningful rituals in favor of new onesthe old ones have simply taught you all they need to. Our self-care needs also change as we age or become more sensitive to our minds, bodies, and spirits. Listen to that change.

It is my hope that this book has provided you with a working toolkit to explore your own, unique version of every magic, one that will become more and more distinctly yours as you practice it. Let it evolve. Let it flow. Trust your intuition and your increased sensitivity to your true nature. Celebrate your magical sanctuaries and your magical relationships. All that matters is that you keep intentionally conjuring. The more you practice, the stronger youll get, the more easily the answers will come, because youll have done the hard work to clear through blockages and listen to your instincts.

Conjuring everyday magic is an ongoing practice that takes time, patience, and the willingness to let go of preconceived notions of who you should be and what your life should look like. You have to get to know yourself. You have to open yourself to the possibility that you have divine wisdom. That your soul is a beautiful story, slowly revealing itself to you with each act of magic you feed it.

Questions to ask yourself:

What does my own unique magical signature look and feel like?

What are my routines as rituals that I use to replenish my magic?

What are my everyday conjurings that welcome magic into my life?

Take your time answering these final questions. Meditate on them. Let the answers unfold slowly and deliberately. They will develop over time, as you get more comfortable trusting your instincts and learning what your signature magic feels like.

In the end, magic is an act of trust. Of belief. In yourself. In your relationship to the world. In the cosmic Universe. In our profound ability to break the chains of ancestral hauntings and forge new stories. In the quiet truth that everyday life is filled with enchantments and mystic happenings if only we open ourselves to them. Thats what makes this alternative kind of life so hard to cultivate, because when we believe in magic and our ability to conjure it, we then know that we are infinite. That we are the Divine Feminine. That we are pure bliss.

Its hard work, yes. But so worth it. Are you ready to go into the world to conjure your own special magic?

I know I am.

PAGANISM & SHAMANISM

What is Paganism? A religion, a spirituality, an alternative belief system, nature worship? You can find support for all these definitions (and many more) in dictionaries, encyclopaedias, and text books of religion, but subscribe to any one and the truth will evade you. Above all Paganism is a creative pursuit, an encounter with reality, an exploration of meaning and an expression of the soul. Druids, Heathens, Wiccans and others, all contribute their insights and literary riches to the Pagan tradition. Moon Books invites you to begin or to deepen your own encounter, right here, right now.

Over the years, Ive written a lot about everyday magic, a term I use to describe the mysticism inherent in our day-to-day lives. In practice, this means cultivating joy and consciously letting go of negative patterns. It means listening to yourself and your needs. And it means having long conversations with the stars and giving yourself permission to dream deeply and with wild abandon, both at night, when you sleep, and during the day, when you can turn your daydreams into seeds for future happiness.
