Womens lives are more hectic today than ever; the demands of child rearing, work, ministry, and marriage can drain women of energy and enthusiasm. What they need is order; they need a plan for prioritizing whats important and sticking to it. Lysa TerKeurst has created Living Life on Purpose to answer this obvious need. It is a Bible study that helps women design a life plan based on seven main principles of the Proverbs 31 woman. Upon completion of this study, a woman will have goals to work toward, action steps to complete, and most importantly, a plan for living their lives on purpose . . . Gods purpose.

Lysa is able to balance her spiritual pursuits and not forget the reality of - photo 1

Lysa is able to balance her spiritual pursuits and not forget the reality of being a wife and mom. She offers a fresh approach to setting goals and purposes to ones life. Her lifetime experience adds humor and realism to this book. The reader will be encouraged as she reads this book.

EMILIE BARNES, Author, Speaker

With humor and solid advice, Lysa helps us find balance and sanity in this crazy wonderful world of womanhood.

BECKY FREEMAN, Author, Speaker

As women, we are called to serve the Lord and others by finding our purpose. Lysas book and journal will release women from the frustration of not having a plan or a track to run on. Lysa herself went from a life that lacked purpose and direction to one of fulfilling a purpose. She went from unorganized to organized, from frustration to enjoyment in the most precious aspects of lifethat of a homemaker, wife, mother, and head of The Proverbs 31 Ministry. I highly recommend this book to women of all ages.

A CKNOWLEDGMENTS

A special thank you goes to:

Scott and Elaine Mayson, who first introduced me to the concept of having a Life Plan and who live lives worth modeling.

My mom, who believed in me when I didnt believe in myself. You put wings to my dreams. How can I ever thank you for your encouragement, support, and love?

My special mom through marriage. Thanks for raising such an amazing son, for supporting me, and loving the girls.

My sweet sisters, Angee, Sarah, Emily, Monica, and Ann Marie, who helped me with my girls, sent great stories and quotes via E-mail, and encouraged me that I had a message worth sharing.

My partner and friend, Sharon Jaynes. Thank you for holding me up when I get weary, cheering me on in victory, walking with me hand-in-hand in ministry, and mostly for being my friend. Thank you, also, for helping pen the Seven Principles of the Proverbs 31 Woman, on which so much of this book is founded.

My kindred spirit, Cheri Jimenez. Thank you for helping to pen the Seven Principles and for your willingness to sacrificially serve The Proverbs 31 Ministry. You helped carry the ministry so that it could be possible for me to write this book. Thank you, also, for your never-tiring ear and your encouraging words as I read and reread sections of this manuscript.

My eating, sleeping, and breathing-the-Word-of-God friend, Sheila Mangum. Your wisdom in developing the Bible study portion of the journal was invaluable! I cant wait to see you dance down the streets of gold with your Daddy.

My you-can-do-it friends: Glynnis Whitwer, Genia Rogers, Lori Willis, Renee Marston, Tracy Roberts, Linda Beerbower, Laura Kasay, Suzy Sandbo, and Rene Swope. Thank you for your advice, honesty, prayers, and encouragement.

A special thank-you to Lynn Pitts and Jan Harrisonyou have been so kind to meand to Wade Pearce for keeping me on my toes.

My small group: David and Becky, Scott and Melanie, Mark and Heidi, Jeff and Gina, and Jimmy and Alli. You prayed this book into existence and helped out in so many ways.

My special helpers: Andrea, Samantha, and Alicia Driveralso, Sarah Joyner and Chapel Cromer. You have all been a blessing from God! (Renee, Pam, and Cassyou are great moms!)

The special Golds Bible Study Group. Thank you for being the first group to walk through this book. While you all kept thanking me for teaching you, I must admit I learned as much from you. May you each embrace Gods love for you and continue to seek Him with all your heart.

The entire team at Moody: Greg Thornton, especially, for catching the vision and recognizing Gods timing; Kelly Cluff for encouraging me to send in the proposal; Julie Ieron for coaching me, encouraging me, and never letting me settle for second best; Anne Scherich for combing through the manuscript with a fine-tooth comb and getting all the tangles out.

To all the women who want to find purpose for their lives: God is about to take you on quite a journey. May you discover joy, peace, and hope for an amazing future.

I NTRODUCTION

I feel its only fair that I tell you a few things before you read this book. If you are looking to read a book written by someone who has mastered this thing called life, you might be disappointed. If you are seeking marital wisdom, you might not like the fact that I have raised my voice beyond an acceptable decibel level a time or two. If a woman whose children daily rise and call her blessed is what you want, please dont call my home before 8:00 A.M. on a school morning. My children might call me something but it probably would not be blessed. Ive been known to try to improvise using lip liner as eyeliner, not realizing that red and brown are not as close as I would have liked on the color chart. Then I couldnt get the mess off and had to walk around with red clown eyes for three days. My house isnt always perfectly clean, my accounts arent always balanced, and chocolate is a major weakness during most dieting attempts.
