H ave you ever been sleeping and dreaming a super intense and realistic dream, and suddenly in the dream you awaken and you realize that you are dreaming?

Its an exhilarating realization, understanding in that moment that you have the opportunity to experience the reality of your choosing - but its fleeting. Its difficult to maintain the awakened state without leaving the dream, and you have to really focus at first to maintain your awareness. If you get good at it, through purposeful practice and repetition, you can maintain the awakened state while also allowing your mind to reach out, if you will, as though you have one foot firmly rooted in the now, while the other is free to further engineer the events of the dream. Once you can maintain the balance of your awareness, you can remain awake as you continue to dream.

Perhaps the first time you awaken in a dream, the most you get out of it is the awareness of having woken, but then you quickly go back under, or, upon waking in the dream, you also wake from the sleep and its over. With practice, however, you eventually become able to maintain the awareness of being awake in the dream, while staying in the dream, and you are able to react to events with a new awareness (if its a bad dream, you may leave the situation, or alter your reaction to it, etc.... if its a good dream, relax and enjoy it ;). As you progress, you may find yourself better able to extend the now moment and stay awake and aware in the dream long enough to actually begin to engineer it and to do what you most want. Synthesize your process with your awareness in waking life, and you can extend and enhance your experience all the more.

However that may apply to your dreaming experience, returning to the present via your conscious awareness and your senses help to maintain an overall balance as far as staying awake within your dream, and the more that you practice being lucid, the more expansive your awareness becomes.

You can engineer your dream reality and map your journey, remaining flexible to all that comes your way by simply allowing, accepting, and adapting, because in your awakened state you know that you have the ultimate weapon: choice. Your dream is yours to shape. Do you dare to believe? If so, you must be wholly accountable for yourself. You cant be both victim and master of your destiny. You must choose which path to take victim or master, and that doesnt mean that you wont encounter situations beyond your control, but your reaction to those situations, your perceptions, and the way in which you adapt shapes your reality, your present moment, and your future.

We also now know that the events of a dream, to the brain, arent overly different than the events of real life your body is just temporarily paralyzed during sleep to keep you from acting out your dreams.

So what if you could do this in real life? What if you could awaken within the dream of your life, of your reality, and of your perception of your reality, and take the wheel? You control your reality by being the master of your thoughts, your words, your emotions, your beliefs, your intentions, your actions, and your choices.

Waking life isnt for the faint of heart. It also requires that you take responsibility for who you are, how you think, how you act, where you are in life, where you want to go, what you can achieve, and what you believe about your self-worth. What do you EXPECT your future to look like? What do you BELIEVE about yourself and about your ability to achieve your deepest desires? What do you believe about your deepest desires? Do you have the COURAGE to honor the desires that are closest to your heart? Do you know what those are?

Resist nothing that comes your way. A ship cant just float along, perceiving itself a victim of the river. It must sail with intention. And that doesnt mean that storms wont happen, but as a vessel you must navigate THROUGH them with clear and courageous purpose, understanding that storms are a part of life. Some are unfair because we live in a world that has lost its balance. Absurdities and atrocities happen daily, everywhere, and have for centuries. Suffering never goes away, but we can learn how to adapt, how to change, and how to survive and thrive despite lifes circumstances. Theories evolve and adapt and change every day, and truths that we hold as groups of people and as individuals change as new ways of thinking emerge. How can we ever know what is true? Western medicine has only recently discovered an organ that it hadnt previously encountered, neuroscience is in the infancy of beginning to understand that the brain is inherently plastic, and the space community is discovering new planets daily. The impossible becomes increasingly possible every day, with new frontiers yet to explore. Individuals and groups are awakening and dismantling systems within themselves, in their communities, and around the world, and more and more people are rising up to meet the challenges, consequences, and dreams of the future.
