Dedication
With a grateful heart I wish to acknowledge the team efforts of the excellent staff at Destiny Image, Encounters Network (formerly Ministry to the Nations), the intercessory force of our prayer shield and the support of my dear family. Blessings upon blessings to all of you.
Having moved in and out of various circles of the prophetic movement for the past thirty years, I have had the opportunity of tasting and participating in a wide variety of prophetic expression. I am grateful to the Lord for this diverse exposure and trust that the reader will benefit from those years of preparation and cross pollination to compose this book.
With a heart of honor to whom honor is due I wish to dedicate this book to three fathers who have immensely impacted my journey. They are each unique seers in this era of ChristianityJohn Sandford, Bob Jones and Paul Cain. Thank you, Lord, for these fatherly seers who have pioneered a way for the next generation of eagles to arise and fly!

Endorsements
Jim Goll has blessed the Body of Christ with a greater understanding of the prophetic voice of the Lord. He has given much biblical insight and personal experience that helps us understand the unique ministry of the Prophet and the Seer. Also, valuable guidelines and principles are given concerning how to discern a true word from the Lord and how to properly minister that word. This book will be a very valuable resource for those who desire to be used in prophetic ministry.

James Golls book The Seer is long overdue. Few can or do write like him. He blends a rare combination of being both scholarly and very inspiring. Its fascinating to me that though I operate prophetically, it has been the seers in my life, sent by God, who have given me the most significant revelation and direction for the ministry of The Elijah List, as well as keeping me in touch with the plans of God for my life.

Jim Golls profound work The Seer, is an excellent tool to educate the Church on the gift of foresight and its significance in the lives of Gods people. The principles shared in this book will address misconceptions about seeing and prepare the reader to experience the awesome benefits of this ministry. I highly recommend The Seer to those who desire to know what is yet to come.

For all those who are seers and have wondered if anyone understood you, this book is a gift for you. Jim Goll has clearly and scripturally opened the way for the seer gift to be used in the Body of Christ. Fascinating book! You will love it!

Navigating the unseen realm can be both enticing and challenging as believers seek to grow deeper in the gifts of the Spirit, particularly related to that of the seer gifting. Enticing, because it is awe-inspiring to come in contact with the power and presence of the Lord through spiritual experiences that are often part of that gifting. Challenging, because it is critical that the Word of God and spiritual disciplines such as prayer and intimacy remain the solid footing on which revelational experiences are interpreted.
Jim Goll has succeeded in presenting a comprehensive study of the prophet/seer gift sharing substantial biblical understanding as well as experience from his own spiritual journey. As with Jims previous books, this one could well become a manual for those pursuing the seer anointing.

If all you have is the Spirit, you can blow up, but if you have the Spirit and the Word, you will grow up. Nowhere have I found that adage more amply and wisely elucidated than in Jim Golls The Seer.
Jim couples breathtaking revelation with wisdom, piercing insight with discretion, high spirituality with balance and accountability, new knowledge and understanding with exciting mystical experience.
The Seer is a boat to shoot over the dangerous rocks of the rapids into the high seas of prophetic expression and fruitfulness in the Lord. Having pioneered the modern prophetic movement almost thirty years ago with the book, The Elijah Task, I find in Jims book The Seer a most worthy successor. To me, it is an honor to recommend this book to all. My hope and prayer is that you will not just read it, but live it to the max for the glory of our Lord.

Foreword
We live in a day when all too many scholars and even believers have reduced the Word of God to a purely rational and logical explanation. Granted, the Word of God appeals as reasonable and logical in its unfolding to the human mind: provided that mind is surrendered, yielded and in the process of being transformed by the Spirit! The natural mind is not capable of receiving anything whatsoever from the Spirit of God. The Scriptures are God-breathed, and the breath of God is the Spirit of God. In actual fact the breath of God was experienced by all those who penned the sacred writings. In order for that to occur, the individuals who wrote had to have experienced the experience of being moved by the breath, the wind, and the Spirit of God.
In the beginning, the wind and breath of God, the Spirit of God, brooded, hovered and vibrated over chaos and brought about order. The Spirit of God manifests the presence of God. You cannot know the presence of God purely by logic and reason. The presence of God can only be known by experience, and that experience is tantamount to revelation. Your eyes have to be opened, your heart has to become vibrant and alive, and your ear has to be attuned to a level beyond the normal octaves that the human ear can hear. Jesus Himself quotes the prophet Isaiah in Marks Gospel while explaining the parable of the soils, and says that the problem with the human condition in its fallen state is that it has affected the eyes, the ears and the heart.
The actual words of Isaiah are as follows:
Render the hearts of this people insensitive,
Their ears dull,
And their eyes dim.
Otherwise they mightseewith their eyes,Hearwith their ears,
Understand (actually implies to discern) with their hearts,
And return and be healed. (Isa. 6:10).
When the Spirit is released both upon and within a person, their eyes, ears and heart are opened to a world beyond their limited seeing, hearing, feeling and discerning. That world is the more real yet invisible world. It is the world from which the visible world derives its existence. When a person is brought out of the realm of darkness and ignorance, the realm of the fallen nature and the realm of the powers of darkness, and translated into the Kingdom of Gods beloved Son, the Spirit reveals Him to the hungry heart, mind, and soul.
