In fact, can you imagine if we all took a few minutes and used what we are passionate about to give back to the world and make it a better place?

As I sit here on my office floor, with a large mug of Earl Grey tea beside me, wrapped in a luxurious new blanket that I picked up in Peru just last week, Im so grateful for the amazing places my passion has taken me.

My passion for travel has sent me zigzagging across the world doing some pretty crazy things, from riding a 50cc (a very small motorcycle) across the Sahara Desert in Morocco, to traveling by rickshaw more than 1,200 kilometers through India, to attending university for a year in Australia, to teaching English as a foreign language in schools across Europe and Southeast Asia, to gorilla trekking in the Congo.

Travel is a serious passion of mine, in case you havent guessed. Over the years, I joined this passion for travel with a passion for giving back. Along with my husband, Stu, I run a multimillion-dollar global nonprofit called Village Impact, whose focus is on partnering with communities in rural Kenya to help educate every single child.

Our work is greatly centered on relationships and community, because we make more progress when we work together. I was and have always been passionate about giving back to others, and I also love working together to create change while learning from one another. Our mission as a charity is to provide access to knowledge and entrepreneurial skill-building opportunities so that the people we serve can create better futures for themselves, their families, and their communities. We started out in 2006, and to date have built 14 schools150 classrooms. We continue to offer hope and opportunity not just to the communities who work with us in Kenya, but to the many people whove contributed to our organization and brought their passions to life in the process.
