One of the great joys of my work as a publisher is to work with extraordinary people to help bring their light to the world. Dennis Merritt Jones is one of those unique voices. As a reader of Science of Mind magazine, I was familiar with Denniss work long before I became the publisher of the publication. Once I stepped into the role of publisher, it soon became apparent that Dennis was one of our readers favorite writers.

As we have continued to work together over the years, Dennis approached me with the idea of creating a compilation of some of his essays for the magazine, along with some new work. It was a conversation that I welcomed, and we soon agreed that the same organization that publishes Science of Mind magazine would also be a good fit to publish this, his latest book.

Science of Mind magazine is one of the largest, digest-sized magazines in the country. We honor all people and all paths to the Divine. Our philosophy is Oneness and it is our honor to support people on their unique spiritual paths. This year we are celebrating ninety years of continuous publication. We touch 80,000 people on a monthly basis with the magazine in all of its forms. Additionally, we have almost 500,000 Facebook friends in our online community and we reach another 30,000 people with our free bimonthly newsletter. Please visit www.scienceofmind.com to sign up and to learn more about us.

Dennis and I had an opportunity to meet face-to-face last year when I was in Florida. Our conversation was fluid and covered a lot of ground, from his ongoing work with the magazine to recent personal losses, and from his beloved four-legged Mac to his relocation from California to Florida.

I was excited to receive the draft of Encouraging Words and wasnt disappointed. The book captures the best of Denniss articles with the same depth and breadth of Dennis himself. Youll find conversations that incorporate philosophy, religion, psychology, spirituality, New Thought and music. One of the many things I appreciate about this work is that you can read it from cover-to-cover or you can open it up and let the Universe guide you to what you need in the moment. I love that there are multiple points of entry.

Along with the personal and historical stories, Dennis offers practices to put what youve just read into direct application in your lifeapplied spirituality. Its what hes known for and so good at!

So whether through his words, a song, a quote, or a mindfulness practice, I invite you to settle in and enjoy this yummy compilation of some of the best work of Dennis Merritt Jones. To paraphrase a line from the play Auntie Mame , enjoy this delectable treat from the buffet of life!

With Great Love,

David
