As the return of the Lord Jesus Christ draws near, it is imperative that Christians be able to clearly discern the Holy Spirits voice in every area of their lives. One of the areas where God desires to bring clarity, understanding, and purpose is in the area of finances. Believers have so many misconceptions about money that many of them have no idea what Gods will is regarding the finances of His people. As a result, they remain in financial lack and poverty without knowing Gods plan for their lives. By tapping into the wisdom of God, however, Christians can learn what it truly means to be prosperous. By following His leading, individuals can make sound financial decisions and wise investments that will enable them not only to make money and live comfortably, but also to build an inheritance for future generations.
When it comes to biblical prosperity, there are some important things to keep in mind. First, it is Gods will for Christians to prosper financially. We know that prosperity isnt limited to money, but money is one part of the prosperity pie. Weve been conditioned to believe that a person who has a lot of money is prosperous, and certainly happy. We know this isnt the case because many people have plenty of money but are miserable. Having finances without peace of mind, health, and flourishing, loving relationships gives a picture of incomplete prosperity. We want to make sure that we are operating in abundance not only where finances are concerned but also in every other area of our lives.
With that being said, it is important to understand the difference between being rich and being wealthy. When a person is rich, it simply means he or she has a lot of moneyat the moment. To be wealthy is something different. Wealth starts with a mind-set. Even though someone may have a lot of money in his or her bank account, that person can still have a poverty mind-set rather than a wealthy mind-set. A poverty mind-set will always lead to the dwindling of finances rather than increase, meaning that the person with money will eventually end up at square one, with little to nothing. Similarly, when a person has a wealthy mind-set, it is only a matter of time before his or her bank account goes from $10 to $10 million. This is because wealth begins with the way we think, regardless of what we have in our possession.
Wealth starts with a mind-set.
People with a wealthy mind-set think and act differently from those who are poverty-minded. Wealth means you not only have money, but you are also establishing an inheritance for future generations. This inheritance can include anything from material assets, such as antiques and collectibles that have been passed down from generation to generation, to stock, real estate, and annuities that can be liquidated or kept in an interest-bearing account such as an IRA, CD, or money market account. When you are operating in generational wealth, you are thinking and investing in your future and in the futures of your descendants.
Christians are called to be wealthy, just as our heavenly Father is wealthy; however, achieving the will of God concerning our finances is going to require tangible and intangible strategies to get us to that ultimate destination of wealth and riches. Obedience to the voice of the Holy Spirit and understanding the three keys to proper stewardship, combined with practical knowledge of the various types of investment methods and strategies, will enable Believers to experience financial prosperity and success.
Christians are called to be wealthy, justas our heavenly Father is wealthy.
One of the biggest hindrances to achieving true and lasting wealth is a persons mind-set, which is why renewing the mind is so vital to this process. Most of us have been raised with ideas about money that did not line up with the Word, thus giving us an incomplete or inaccurate picture of prosperity. Some of us were raised with the idea that having a lot of money is ungodly, or that wealth will never be a reality. Others are dealing with poverty mind-sets that have been passed down from generation to generation.
The truth is, if you are going to walk in the level of prosperity that is available to you through Gods Word, which includes wealth, youre going to have to get serious about renewing your mind. Failing to do so means allowing your old ideas and old ways of thinking to continue to block what God is trying to get you to realize concerning your financial prosperity. When your mind has not been renewed, you tend to function with a lack mentality, while God is trying to show you something better.
It is also important that we understand the objective of wealth. If we dont understand the purpose for something, the abuse of it is inevitable. Wealth is designed to enable us to establish Gods covenant in the earth through our ability to bless people until
