ASICS role is to regulate and enforce company and financial services laws to protect Australian consumers, investors and creditors. REIA
The Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) is the national professional association for Australias real estate sector. REIA is a politically non-aligned organisation that provides research and well-informed advice to the Federal Government, Opposition and professional members of the real estate sector, media and the public on a range of issues affecting the property market. REIA has an excellent reputation as the most credible source of knowledge and considered opinion regarding the commercial and residential property markets in Australia. Department of Fair Trading
The Department of Fair Trading Services is responsible for the receipt and management of residential tenancy bonds in NSW. Please note that the regulatory and licensing body for real estate agents is Fair Trading or the equivalent in your state or territory.
If you are a landlord and you need to find information regarding compensation for loss or damage or to lodge a complaint for the following:
Tenant giving notice of intention to vacate
Leases and notices
Ending a lease or residency
Standards, repairs and entry rights
