INTRODUCTION

MY LIFE IN A TRAVEL TRAILER

M y dad was raised by my grandpa, who didnt have any money. They grew up in the ghetto. When my father grew up and became a police officer, he did better for a while, but he wanted to go in the ministry, so he sold everything and preached all over the country as an itinerate evangelist. Thats why I grew up in a travel trailer.

Life on the road quickly drained my dads bank account, and the people he preached to didnt have any money. Our Cheerios were just Os. Our bologna didnt have a first name. Anybody know what Im talking about here? We were poor! So that tiny trailer was where I slept, ate meals, and went to school. Our whole life was running around the country. My dad had a good heart, but he didnt understand everything in his Bible. When you dont know the truth, the truth cant set you free.

Eventually, my dad started praying and reading his Bible, which is a great idea for a preacher! He found out that the Bible says, Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant (Psalm 35:27 KJV). He started reading things like, Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country (Deuteronomy 28:3 NASB). He realized that it is He who gives you power to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18 ESV).
