Delve into the World of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming was coined by Frederik Van Eeden where he used the word lucid in terms of mental clarity. Lucidity normally starts at the center of the dream when a dreamer realizes that the kind of experience he receives is not physically real but a dream. Normally such realization is triggered by a dreamer who notices some unlikely or impossible occurrence.
There are times wherein people become lucid even without noticing a certain clue in a dream; they suddenly realize they are having a dream. Minority of lucid dreams are considered the result of returning to sleep straight from awakening with an unbroken reflective kind of consciousness. The quality of lucid dreaming may greatly vary.
Lucid dreaming may also give you the chance of playing around the extraordinary abilities of buried or unused parts in the brain. It does not matter whether you have supernatural abilities in reality or not. Lucid dreaming can be an avenue to put deepest areas of your brain in proper and for good use while you are sleeping. You can be someone and forget about your identity while you sleep. All the different obstacles in the reality of life may be set aside.
Lucid dreaming is beyond having clear dream. To experience this kind of dream you must know it for yourself that it is only a dream while you are dreaming. It does not require you to control anything in your dream even though control is the starting point of lucid dreamers. People normally become attracted in lucid dreaming because of the want to achieve things they normally cannot do in reality. For instance, tasting the rainbow and flying around the sun. Lucid dreamers are starting to realize the advantage of lucid dreaming. This can be a useful way of exploring the limits of universe and boundaries of own agency.
Lucid dreamer has a greater chance of exerting a certain degree in controlling over the participation within a dream. He may be able to manipulate imaginary experiences in a dream environment. Lucid dreams may be considered as vivid and realistic. It is highly evident in increasing amount of the beta-1 band frequency of brain wave activity, which is 13-19 Hz. This is being experienced by lucid dreamers. Thus there is also increasing amount of activity in parietal lobes. Thru this, lucid dreaming is considered to be conscious process.
Skeptics of this phenomenon consider it as not the state of sleep but brief wakefulness. However, some believe that there is no way of proving the truth in the idea of lucid dreaming except asking personally the lucid dreamer. Lucid dreaming keeps on undergoing scientific research together with the participants who perform pre-determined kind of physical responses upon experiencing this kind of dream.
Lucid dream may begin in a certain way among the many. The Dream-Initiated Lucid Dream or D.I.L.D begins in the normal dream. The dreamer will eventually conclude that it is already a dream. The Wake Initiated Lucid Dream or W.I.L.D occurs when the dreamer goes from the normal state of being awake, which directs into the dream state. This is possible without any apparent lapse of consciousness. This is also evident when a sleeper enters the REM sleep having unbroken self-awareness that goes directly from a waking state.
