Pastor Brenda Kunnemans lifestyle of prayer, consecration, and devotion makes her an exceptional example of someone who lives daily in the presence of God. She has discovered that any endeavor is likely to succeed when you simply follow the rules that govern that pursuit. The Bible gives us proven guidelines that govern the subject of prayerone of the most powerful weapons in our spiritual arsenal. Those who have the most consistent and effective prayer lives are the ones who take advantage of those foundational truths in the word of God. For instance, Isaiah 55:11 promises us that Gods word will not return to Him void or empty but will accomplish its purpose!
Today, much of what the Body of Christ calls prayer is nothing more than a litany of complaints and a compilation of faithless requests with an amen tacked on. In her book The Daily Decree, Brenda Kunneman shares scriptural principles for you to declare what God has already said about you and your situation. Instead of lamenting how things are, you should be proclaiming how they will be! This incredible book is a great resource to exponentially increase your effectiveness in prayer.

As human beings made in the image and likeness of God, we are meaning makers. We observe life as it unfolds, and internally we interpret what we observe and bring those interpretations to speech. We live in language. We perform linguistic acts on a daily basis, often moment by moment. We talk our way into and out of situations, relationships, and obligations. Language shapes our cultural reality, and our cultural realities shape our language. Whether we are fully paying attention to our linguistic actions or not, we are at times making assertions and at other times making declarations. Whether or not it is an assertion or a declaration is dependent upon our assessment of what we are dealing with.
We are assessors and declarers by nature, by human nature. We have needs because we are creatures that are dependent on both God and others. God made us intentionally with needs. How we get those needs met is really important. We deeply desire that when promises are made to us, they are kept. We also know that when we make promises to others we need to keep them, or there are consequences in those relationships. The Good News is that God, our Father, has made many, many precious and magnificent promises so that by them we might become partakers of the divine nature. Peter tells us that in his second epistle.
In the midst of having our needs, we make assessments as well as declarations. If we make promises that we know we need to keep, how much more is the God of Truth, who makes promises, loyally loving to keep those promises? Wouldnt wisdom be to fill our hearts with those promises so that when we assess what we are facing, aware of the needs we have that are intended to be met, the declarations we make be rooted in Gods precious and magnificent promises? God is often saying, Open your mouth wide that I might fill it! What does He want our mouth to be filled with? The language of promise! Our speech acts can be overflowing with declarations of what the God of Truth has promised us.
Pastor Brenda Kunneman has done it again by providing us a great little toola host of promises from Scripture that we can learn how to bring to speech as decrees (which are declarations based on assessments we make in light of Gods perspective on life situations). Learning how to shape our speech in relation to the promises of God is quite healthful and beneficial. It is something you want to do daily. Pastor Brendas brand-new The Daily Decree is a tool, an aid, and a guide to help shape your speech-acts, rooted in your assessments that form declarations that are grounded in Gods sure promises. There is a daily decree for each and every day. Today might be the best day to start using this wonderful aid to help you navigate your journey by the words of your mouth and the meditations of your heart.
