S pending time with God is important to us as Christians. There is no better thingtodowhen you are filled with joy or sadness, anger or contentment. This is what we needto teach our children! To understand that thinking, praying, and talking to God iskey to strengthening and growing their faith.
Who better to ask?
Who better to praise?
Who better to thank,
than the Lord Almighty?
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
G od had his angels with him in heaven. And he was happy. But he wanted to share. He had a plan to create the world and everything on it and in it. This is so longago, but he knew it was a good plan and he got started.
Thank you, God, for everything.
Genesis 1:2 The earth didnt have any shape. And it was empty.
G od wanted to make the world. And he did it! It is amazing that he made it all outof nothing. Think about how hard it would be for you to make something out of nothing. It is impossible for you. But it is not impossible for God!
Thank you, God, for creating the world!
Genesis 1:78 And thats exactly what happened. God made the huge space betweenthe waters. He separated the water under the space from the water above it. God calledthe huge space sky. There was evening, and there was morning
G od has a great imagination. He thought up every part of creation all by himself. He wanted to make things that made him happy. He had a plan to make people, and hiscreation would make them happy too.
Thank you, God, for your great imagination!
Genesis 1:910 God said, Let the water under the sky be gathered into one place.Let dry ground appear. And thats exactly what happened. God called the dry groundland. He called all the water that was gathered together seas. And God saw thatit was good.
G od has great power. He knew what he wanted to create and so he did it! And the creationshe made were just the way he thought they should be. Everything worked and fit intothe world he was making.
Thank you, God, for all you made for us.
Genesis 1:11 Then God said, Let the land produce plants. Let them produce theirown seeds. And let there be trees on the land that grow fruit with seeds in it. Leteach kind of plant or tree have its own kind of seeds. And thats exactly what happened.
I t was Gods idea to make things in the world have color. He chose to make the sunyellow, the grass green, and the sky blue. Imagine what the world would be like ifit were only black and white!
Thank you, God, for making the world a colorful place!
Genesis 1:21 So God created the great sea creatures. He created every kind of livingand thing that fills the seas and moves about in them. He created every kind of birdthat flies. And God saw that it was good.
T hink about all the different kinds of living creatures. There is not just one kindof bird or one kind of fish! God thought them all up. Would you have been able tothink of thousands of kinds of birds or fish like God did?
Thank you, God, for making so many types, shapes, and sizes of creatures!
Genesis 1:25 God made every kind of wild animal. He made every kind of livestock. He made every kind of creature that moves along the ground. And God saw that it wasgood.
T hink about your favorite animal. God was the first to think of that animal. He cameup with the idea for dogs and cats, elephants and turtles. God knew his creationof animals was good. He knew we would love them. He wants us to promise to care forthem.
Thank you, God, for my pets and for all animals.
Genesis 1:27 So God created human beings in his own likeness.
