F OREWORD

When I look at the Body of Christ today, I see a people who are tired of lifeless religion. I see a remnant who wants to demonstrate that Jesus is alive. I see believers who want a supernatural upgrade. After all, Jesus said we would do the greater works (see John 14:12). Hes called us to cast out devils, heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, and even raise the dead (see Matthew 10:8).

Beyond the church world, a generation is rising that is curious about the supernatural realm and dissatisfied with the church as it has been handed down to them. They are burned out on religion, even though many have never stepped inside a church. As a result, they are seeking the supernatural outside of Christ. They are awed by what they dont realize are lying signs and wonders (2 Thessalonians 2:9). They are moving further than ever from the true God of the Supernatural.

What the churchand the worldneeds is a spiritual awakening. A certain passage in Lukes gospel continues to strike my heart. Jesus took Peter, John and James up to a mountain to pray. As Jesus prayed, His face changed, and his clothes started radiating white light. Moses and Elijah appeared in the glory to discuss His assignment of salvation through the cross.

Unfortunately, during this epic event Peter, John and James fell asleep. Can you imagine? This is a picture of many in the church today.

God wants to bring us into supernatural glory encounters where we see people delivered, bodies healed, marriages restoredall in the blink of an eye. Too many of us have become familiar with worship, familiar with prophecy, and even familiar with the Holy Spirit. We go through the motions, half asleep. A spirit of slumber is working to squeeze out our supernatural upgrade.

But look what happens next. Luke 9:32 tells us, When they were fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men who stood with Him. Catch that. They were not half awake. They were not mostly awake. They were fully awake. And they stayed awake. That experience on the Mount of Transfiguration marked them. Even though they would stagger over Christs death on the cross, His resurrection rekindled the supernatural flame in their heart and they walked in signs, wonders, and miracles that we rarely see in todays church.

Its time to get back to our roots. Its time to wake up and receive our supernatural upgrade.
