CONTENTS
LIFE IS FULL of seasons. Some are difficult, and others are easy. Some are joyful, and others can be full of grief and pain. Some seasons are full of growth and success, and some are a time of God calling you deeper. Wherever you are in life, though, I know that God is there in the midst of it all with you. He has something to speak to you in your current situation, and He has a plan for your future.
This book seeks to help you wherever you are. It talks of different seasons and circumstances women of God experience, with topics ranging from trusting in God to letting go of bitterness to serving others to waging spiritual warfare to becoming a woman of virtue. Each topic includes Scripture to guide you, short one-to-two-sentence declarations for you to proclaim over your life, longer and deeper prayers, and a journaling prompt so you can write your own prayers and declarations for each different area of life and season.
Each of these components has its own uses in your growth process. Scripture is, of course, the first place you should look as you face a new season of life or an obstacle you must overcome. As 2 Timothy 3:1617 says, All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. Each topic begins with Scripture that relates because it is the first place we should look, and Scripture should inform the declarations we proclaim and the prayers that we pray. Read these scriptures and think about what they are speaking to your life today, and seek to implement them in your actions, declarations, and prayers.
Next, each section includes several one-to-two-sentence declarations. These are short, but they are powerful! Many of these declarations are birthed out of Scripture itself. What better to proclaim over your life, plans, family, city, and future than the Word of God? Because these declarations are so short, you can memorize them and speak them daily over your life. You could write them down on Post-it Notes and stick them to your mirror to pray over as you prepare for each day. Or you can store them in your phone and set a timer to remind you to make a decree for the day. Or you could put them on index cards in your pocket or purse and pull them out in spare moments to proclaim and pray over your life. Whatever your method is, take these declarations with you. Use them each day as you seek to grow deeper in your relationship with the Father.
Each topic also includes deeper and longer prayers. These are in-depth prayers for each topic. Pieces of them relate to Scripture, and some are simply prayers from my heart that I prayed through something I had to overcome. Take these prayers and pray them yourself. Think these words through, make sure you are praying from your heart, and then take them before the Lord.
Each topic ends with a place for you to write your own declarations and prayers. Take a scripture and turn it into a declaration you can proclaim over your life and your future. Or write your own longer, heartfelt prayers. Or you can do both. This is where you get to be an active participant. You have seen Scripture; you have seen examples of declarations and prayers. Now make them your own. Personalize your declarations and prayers for the exact situation you are in, and pray them out.
You can read this book straight through if youd like. However, it is made to be useful to you wherever you are. So if you are going through something, find the section that relates to where you are and work through that part first. The book is divided into five parts with more specific topics within each part. You can find a broad subject you are dealing with, such as seeking inner transformation through Christ, and read through each topic in succession. You can also find specific topics that relate to exactly what you are going through today and go through that part only. In other words, this book is yours. Use it in the manner that is most helpful to you as you seek to deepen your relationship with Christ and begin to share Him with those around you.
Part I
DRAWING CLOSE TO GOD
GOD FAVORS WOMEN who commit their lives to ministering to Himwho draw near to Him, worship Him, declare His worth on the earth, meditate on His Word, and access His heart. Ministering to the Lord means loving God with all of our hearts. This is our primary calling, even above ministering to others. Learning to repent, trust God, and abide in Him are keys to remaining close to the Lord, and the prayers and declarations in this section will help you do just that.
