ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
There are many people who have contributed to and aided in the research and preparation of this work. First and foremost, the biggest thanks and appreciation goes to Theresa Crater, my life partner and closest friend. Theresa and I have spent many hours editing the drafts and discussing the topics of this book. Having accompanied me to Egypt twice on tour, she has experienced many of the facets of Khemitian knowledge and wisdom personally. Theresa and I have taken and renewed vows to each other on two occasions in the presence of Hathor at the Temple of Dendara in Egypt, and this book could never have been accomplished without Theresas love, support, energy and wisdom. I also want to thank our feline children Wizzer and Arwen.
This book could also not have been accomplished without the love, wisdom, patience and collaboration of my beloved teacher, AbdEl Hakim Awyan. I have often stated that Hakim is a walking library and I have been blessed by his sharing some of the knowledge of the indigenous oral traditions of the ancient Khemitians with me. The great love and support of his family must also be recognized, especially that of his eldest daughter Shahrzad (Shahira), who is a living testament to and embodiment of Khemitian wisdom. Her sisters and brothers; Reba, Maryann, Awyen, Bora, Moses, Haroun (Aaron), Haman, Yagoob ( Jacob), Yusef (Joseph) and Sadat have always treated me with love and respect and are my Egyptian family. I also mention and give thanks to Maryanns daughter, Hakims granddaughter, Yazmine (Jasmine) who has the potential to be the Hemeti, The Woman of Power, the future head of the family.
My great appreciation and thanks again to my brother and sisters, Bob Mehler, Sunny Goldstein Mehler and Layne Hackett, always there for support and love. Thanks to the two people who are my biggest supporters, Phyllis Goldstein Hoffman and Ron Hoffman. Thanks also to Joni Mehler and Mike Taylor, Rick Mehler, Steve and Kristine Mehler and Daniel and Zachary. Thanks also to Raquel Hoffman Lebish for her continued support.
The support and contributions to the research by several key people must be noted. Christopher Dunn, whom I am honored to count both as a close friend and esteemed colleague, has provided incalculable ideas, energy, insight and inspiration for me for many years. Jeanne Dunn, Geno, Alex and Peter have given support and love for both Chris and I. A special mention of gratitude to another dear friend and colleague, Dr. John DeSalvo, Director of The Great Pyramid Of Giza Research Association, and his family. John has become a precious friend to me and is an enormous conduit and resource for alternative researchers.
The research efforts of Dr. Fred Alan Wolf, Barbara Hand Clow, Dr. Volodymyr Krasnoholovets and Ahmed Osman have provided important contributions to the ideas of this book. I must also mention and give thanks to Mark Amaru Pinkham, David Hatcher Childress and Edward F. Malkowski, whose excellent research also contributed greatly to this work.
There are many Rosicrucians who I would like to mention who have aided greatly in this effort. Julia Jordan Catlin, a dear friend who has accompanied me on several tours to Egypt, has been a great source of love and support for many years, and was personally responsible for introducing me to the Rosicrucian tradition. Daniel H. Schmidt, an extraordinary mystic and scientist, has been another good friend for many years and a source of wisdom and spiritual understanding for this book. Franoise Beaudoin, another very dear friend, as owner for many years of Ram Metaphysical Bookstore provided the first opportunity for me to teach these ideas and supplied a meeting place for many mystics and metaphysical people to share and meet in the 1980s and 90s. Rosicrucian friends such as Shasta Bates, Anne Santos, Diane Hardy and Cherie Bersok have provided great support for me. I must also mention Lamar Kilgore, Guy Dickinson, Hank Bersok, Dr, Erwin Watermyer, Dr. George Buletza, Olive Asher, Ed Lee, Don and Dee Walker and Hugh Sims as profound Rosicrucians and mystics who have had great influence upon me.
Special thanks to dear friends Shawn Levin, Eddie and Georgette Gale, Ama Fox, Olga Peck, Susanne Gillen and Elizabeth Lamar. Once again there is a special place in my heart for Wilma Faye Moore, my spiritual Mom and a long ago daughter of Akhenaten who has my deepest love and appreciation.
I also want to thank Joe and Marylee Swanson, JoAnn and Carl Parks and Max, Khrys Nocerino, Mac McCrary, Tom Krupa, William Stevenson, Jonathan and Andi Goldman, George Noory, Jeff Rense, Dr. Bob Hieronimus, Laura Lee, John Cadman, Dennis Balthaser, Joe Parr, Jim Rodger, Ted St. Rain, Mark Flett and family, Rob Arlinghaus, Adrienne Taylor, Karen Degenhart, Jonathan Boyd, Tamsin Elliott, Mandi Sanders, Nancy and Jannel Kuhta, Jean Smith, Bennie LeBeau/Blue Thunder and Standing Elk/Golden Eagle/Spotted Horse.
Special love and thanks to Andrea Mikana-Pinkham and Body Mind Spirit Journeys for great support and for providing me the opportunity to return to Egypt to teach and share my work with many people.
My gratitude and appreciation to Robert Taylor, my former neighbor and owner of Robert W. Taylor Design Inc., for the wonderful cover, design and layout of the book.
I am again deeply grateful to David Hatcher Childress for his friendship and research, and for publishing this book, and to Jennifer Bolm and all those at Adventures Unlimited Press for their help and support.
Lastly, my eternal gratitude and love to the spirits of Akhenaten and Dr. H. Spencer Lewis, without whose life experiences and influence this book could never have been possible.
INTRODUCTION
T HERE IS A STORY that has always fascinated me which seems quite appropriate to begin this book with. The story concerns the founder of the Chinese system of Taoism, Lao Zi (also written Lao-Tse or Lao-Tsu) who supposedly lived in the sixth century BC. I say supposedly because many scholars consider him to be a mythological character rather than an actual person, but many followers of Taoism are certain he was a historical figure.
There are many versions of the story, but the one that appeals to me most concerns Lao Zi as an old man. Lao Zi was part of an ancient oral tradition of wisdom keepers in China and was a great teacher with many followers. He taught a system he called The Tao or Dao, loosely translated into English as The Way or The Pathless Path. Lao Zi insisted true knowing or understanding can only arise through experience and cannot be transmitted through words, either spoken or written. Therefore, Lao Zi was skeptical of written texts and never wrote any of his teachings down. As he was getting older and approaching death, his younger disciples begged him to write down his basic teachings for the benefit of future humanity. Lao Zi patently refused and said it could not be done. His disciples would not relent and kept at the master day and night. Finally, feeling death near, he acquiesced and wrote what became the standard text of Taoism known as the
