This is a solid work of biblical exposition. I would expect nothing less from the pen of Al Mohler. This is a welcomed addition to the Christ-Centered Exposition series and will serve well all who dive into the wonderful epistle to the Hebrews.
Daniel L. Akin , president, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary
Albert Mohler is to be commended for providing readers with a theologically focused, exegetically faithful, and Christ-honoring exposition of the book of Hebrews. This insightful and impressive commentary on one of the most challenging books in the New Testament simultaneously points readers to the superiority of Christ while wrestling with the historical meaning and contemporary significance of the books structure, as well as the serious warning passages scattered throughout the epistle. In doing so, Mohler has given us more than a cogent and clearly written theological commentary for preachers and teachers, he has also provided his readers with an immensely helpful, warm-hearted resource for all who wish to understand the truth of Gods Word. It is a joy to recommend this marvelous book for pastors, church leaders, and students alike.
David S. Dockery , president, Trinity International University
Albert Mohler is, by any measure, among the most important Christian leaders of the century. He consistently calls the church and the world to the authority and sufficiency of Gods Word. This commentary demonstrates keen exegetical insight, sharp personal application, and deep worldview analysis. This commentary brilliantly equips the Christian to see and proclaim the glory of Christ from a biblical book that ties together the whole story of redemption.
Russell Moore , president, Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention
When Dr. Al Mohler is involved, I always have a difficult time knowing whether I had rather read his philosophy and worldview insights or to peruse his keen exposition of Scripture. This volume on Hebrews may solve the equation. Polymath extraordinaire, Mohler mixes that intellectual attainment with a tender heart for Gods Word and a love for the auditor in a rare style of commentary for preaching to the man on the street. A man who plans to preach the Bible cannot afford to miss this commentary on Hebrews.
Paige Patterson , president, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas
Readers will be grateful for Mohlers biblically faithful and theologically rich exposition of Hebrews. Hebrews is often difficult for readers to understand. Mohler helps us comprehend the letter in its historical context but also applies it powerfully to todays world.
Thomas R. Schreiner , James Buchanan Harrison Professor of New Testament Interpretation and associate dean, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminay
With this commendable commentary on Hebrews, Al Mohler has done preachers and teachers a great service. Readers will find that the book is thorough, informative, and profitable, and that it will stir up the coals and fan the flames of preaching passion and fire. Take up and read!
Terry L. Wilder , Wesley Harrison Chair and professor of New Testament and associate dean, PhD Program, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas
No one navigates the stream of thought and flow of biblical revelation in Hebrews quite like R. Albert Mohler. With the focus of a careful exegete, the heart of a pastor, and a mind saturated in the redemptive history of its Old Testament background, Dr. Mohler makes the epistle to the Hebrews breathe and live for anyone who will walk with him across these pages. This commentary is like having one of the greatest contemporary preachers and theologians in the study with you, patiently helping you to understand, explain, and apply the text of Scripture.
Hershael W. York , Victor and Louise Lester Professor of Christian Preaching, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and pastor, Buck Run Baptist Church, Frankfort, Kentucky

SERIES DEDICATION
Dedicated to Adrian Rogers and John Piper. They have taught us to love the gospel of Jesus Christ, to preach the Bible as the inerrant Word of God, to pastor the church for which our Savior died, and to have a passion to see all nations gladly worship the Lamb.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
T he assignment of writing a commentary on the book of Hebrews is no small undertaking. This commentary began in the privilege of teaching and preaching the book of Hebrews, line by line, to members of Highview Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky, where my wife Mary and I were members for more than twenty years and where I gladly served as a teaching pastor. We remain so very thankful for this warm and faithful congregation. My expositional teaching on Hebrews lasted more than two years, and there is no way to exhaust the riches of any text of Scriptureand that was certainly clear as we studied Hebrews together.
Along the way, many others contributed to this project and to my ministry. Among these were an excellent team of interns in the Office of the President. They included Jeremiah Greever, Duncan Collins, Forrest Strickland, Chris Winegar, Andres Vera, John Pendleton, and Timothy Kleiser. These interns were a tremendous team, and I am thankful for every one of them. Matt Tyler and Jon Swan served as my personal librarians during this project, and they also contributed tremendous assistance. Jon Pentecost served as my media producer during this period, and I am very thankful for him. J. T. English and Thomas Hellams served as executive assistant and chief of staff in my office during these years, and both of them made a dedicated contribution to this effortbelieving in it with patience and understanding.
Two others deserve special commendation. Sam Emadi, director of research, is simply the indispensable man in organizing, supervising, and orchestrating the flow of all the books, writing projects, lectures, speeches, sermons, essays, and other projects I commit myself to do. A man of great scholarship and even greater heartto him I owe a great debt of gratitude.
Similarly, I want to thank Ryan Troglin, who really assumed responsibility for the management of this project and helped me to transform the content from sermon and teaching to a commentary that would serve the church for years to come. Without him, this project would have remained incomplete.
I am thankful for all the faithful preachers and scholars who have added to my understanding of the book of Hebrews and to the teaching faculty of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, with whom I have been privileged to teach and lead for almost twenty-five years.
Finally, as always, my greatest debt in this life is to my wife, Mary, who has so sweetly and perceptively encouraged me in every good work, who listened to me preach and teach almost every word, who encouraged me beyond all measure, and who adds more to my life than any words can express.
