You probably picked up this book and wondered: What exactly is in this book and how is it going to help me?
Get Big. My Recipe - is a book for:
those who are tired of not seeing results in the gym or outside the gym.
people who are thinking about starting training but dont know where to start from or what to do.
people who want to look and feel good.
those who have tried other programs and diets before and have constantly failed.
This is NOT a quick fix or a magic bullet. For complete physical transformations, there are no overnight results.
This is NOT a book for people who want a shortcut, have no willpower or make excuses for their lethargy.
But the real question youre struggling to find answers for is this: How is this book different from other fitness books? It is different because, in this book, you will learn to build your foundation before you build your body.
This brings us to address your next question: Why is important to have a good foundation? It is important to have a solid foundation because, without one, you will fail. You see your body is like a house; before you build a house you build the foundation. And, if the foundation is weak, the house will fall apart.
In the case of your physical transformation and the journey towards fitness, the foundation is the mindset. So to build the body you desire, you first need to have the right mindset. Without the right mindset, you will fail to achieve the body you desire.
In this book, I will teach you the right methods to build the foundation (the mindset). Not having the right mindset is one of the main reasons why most people who join the gyms in January fail to accomplish their desired results. I will also teach you all the important steps to build your mindset before you begin to build your body.
Once were through with the first stage of the book, I will teach you how to set smart fitness goals.
After you learn how to set smart fitness goals, I will help you find out your body type. This is really important as well because if you dont know your body type, you wont be able to train effectively.
Now that the foundation is built and you know your body type, I will teach you the most effective methods to lose weight and build muscle.
Now, you are probably wondering: Who is this guy and why should I listen to him?
My fitness journey started about 20 years ago in the small city of Navodari, which is tucked away in the hidden corners of Romania.
It was November 15th, 2001. It was a cold evening when I was walking down the street thinking about starting my training. I had seen other guys from my neighbourhood change their bodies by training and I was inspired to do the same. But I didnt know what to do once I was inside the gym. A couple of years prior to this day, I thought about starting my training, but I didnt have a good reason to. So I did that one thing you never shouldI gave up.
But this time was different: I had a purpose. A couple of my friends and I were thinking of starting a music band, so we decided to start training to look good on stage. This is how my journey started.
I used to be really skinny. My body weight was 53 kg and my height was 170 cm back when I wasnt training. I had a really weak physique.
I still remember my first day in the gym. I was walking through the door and I could hear the noise of the dumbbells and barbells. Every eye in the room was on me the moment I stepped in. I knew a couple of guys there, but the atmosphere wasnt really welcoming. The only one who had the decency to be friendly was the owner, who made me feel welcome.
It was a small bodybuilding gym and everybody knew each other. There were a couple of professional bodybuilders in the gym and the owner was one of them.
On my first day in the gym, I felt a bit intimidated because I was a skinny guy and most of the guys there were big. I still remember the expression on some of the faces when they first looked at me. They didnt utter a single word, but I could feel what they were all thinking: What is with this skinny guy here?
Heres how I overcame that feeling: I didnt care.
Because I didnt know how to train the first day, I mostly did biceps curls like every other guy who has no idea what to do in the gym. Despite not having enough knowledge, I was feeling really good and proud of myself. However, my happiness was short-lived. The next day, I woke up and couldnt move my arms properly. My body was experiencing a shock. Every muscle in my body was sore and throbbing with pain and the worst part is that nobody told me that this was going to happen. Naturally, I was a bit scared until a friend of mine told me that this was normal and that it would fade away in a couple of days.
The following week things started to change. I started making friends and I was feeling much more welcome.
My first month of training was all about learning. I was paying attention to what other guys were doing and how they were training. The gym owner was also giving me advice about what to do and how to train, and with so many people around me getting good results, I knew it was only a matter of time until I saw the results I was working so persistently for.
In the meantime, the guys from my neighbourhood found out that I was going to the gym, so they started making fun of me. A couple of them even tried to convince me that going to the gym was a bad idea and that I should stop going at all. I didnt know at that time why they were discouraging me so much, but now I know that they were just afraid of me becoming better than them.
After 3-4 months of training, I started seeing the results.
I gained around 4kg of muscle. I was changing not only physically, but also mentally. I was more confident, I was feeling better and looking better, and the gym wasnt a scary place for me anymore. It felt like home.
After 6 months of training, my life completely changed. Everybody was treating me differently. The confidence I felt from changing my body helped me in all other aspects of my life.
I was discovering new joys of life and even the women were looking at me differently and giving me attention. I was confident that I could do any job I devoted myself to. The only problem I dealt with now was not knowing what to expect from life.
After 2 years of training, my body weight went up to 70kg of muscle.
By this time, I was addicted to training. Training was a significant part of my life and I couldnt picture a life without it. But I wanted more from life. I wanted to see the world, but I also wanted to make more money. And therefore, I decided to go and work on cruise ships. The following 4 years, Ive done all kinds of jobs from loading the provisions on the ship to cooking and serving passengers. But working on the ship wasnt easy. I was working for more than 16 hours a day every day, without a single day off. Some of the ships had gyms for the crew, so I continued training. But most of the times, I was too exhausted to do anything at all.
