All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

Dear Parents,
Dont you love the moments when your childrens eyes light up and they say, Oh, I get it!?
How amazing is it that we get to see their brains developneurons firing, ideas clicking and connecting, concepts settling into place? And as parents who love God, whats more meaningful than seeing our kids grasp more and more of His truth and power?
This book was made to help your kids do exactly that. Its a devotional that can even serve as an introductory overview of the Christian faith.
Im not proud to admit that, although I grew up in the church, plenty of the topics in this book were blurry for me for years. After countless hours spent in Sunday school, words like covenant, righteousness, and redemption still zoomed right over my head. Reconciliation? Sanctification? I couldnt even pronounce those. Others I recognizedlike grace, worship, will, and glorybut I wasnt sure where you could find them in the Bible or what they meant for my life.
In other words, I wish Id had a resource like this when I was growing up. It wouldve provided so much clarity for me!
That wish took on new urgency as I looked at my own curious-but-squirrelly six-year-old. I wanted to create a book that would capture her attention and pique her interestso she became a vital part of the writing process. I read entries out loud to her, and if she wasnt tracking, it was time to rewrite. If she was giggling or eagerly answering questions, I knew we were on the right track.
More than anything, I wanted to provide a resource that would lay the groundwork for my daughter to have a lifelong adventure of knowing and loving God. I pray this book will do the same thing for your dear young ones.
In each entry of this devotional, youll see an important Bible word, a simple definition, and a discussion of that word using kid-friendly terms and kid-level examples. Then youll see where this concept can be found in the Bible and a related hands-on activity.
This book will help your children learn factslike how many books are in the Bible or who wrote almost half of Psalmsbut it will do much more. It will help them begin to see how these theological truths fit into Gods big story of redemption and His relationship with us. Learning these important words from Scripture will become an entryway to an expanded view of how big Gods heart is for His people.
May this book open your childrens minds to the wonders of His story and open their hearts to the enormity of His love. May it pull them into Scripture and help them feel closer to the One who is constantly reaching out to them and pouring out love to them every day.

Gods act of making something new
W hen you bring home something you made at school, like a painting, you feel proud as you hand it to your mom. Its special because you made it. It even shows something about youwhat colors you like, how good you are at painting, or what you can imagine. Your mom might say, Wow, this is some great work you did! I like how you gave the elephants purple polka dots or I like the sun with the smiley face.
When we look at people and the world around ussand and mountains, animals and plants, sunlight and rainwe see what God created. And we can see what God is like when we look at what He made. We feel His power in thunder and big ocean waves, and we see His beauty in bright flowers and pretty sunsets. We can tell Hes good when He gives us tasty food from the earth. We feel His love and joy when we hug our dad or giggle with a friend.
