F ailed fatherhood is a major problem in Western Culture these days. Father-wounds, father-absence, father-deficit, and father-hunger are all terms being used both in therapeutic practice as well as pastoral ministry. The family system is under siege by all sorts of ungodly forces. Is there a solution? Is there a pathway to wholeness and well-being for men and fathers? Scripture contends indeed that there is.

My dear friend Pastor Bill Moore is a down-to-earth, Jesus-loving, spiritual health-practitioner, with a long and commendable history in the people-helping business. I ts not only daily but almost hourly now that another man falls from grace. It happens from all walks of life, status, race, and educational level. From Hollywood to the White House and even the church house, disappointment is the operative word. The thought is, do we really have a case when were dealing with the issue of sexual misconduct?

We, as a society, have adapted a no-holds barred approach to life and let everyone make up their rules for right living as we go. If we are going to hold men accountable for their misconduct, then let us return to the moral foundation that makes that possiblethe Word of God. Even Archimedes declared, Give me a place to stand and I will move the earth. This means without a place to stand, we are the influenced but never the influencer.

The Scripture teaches in Ephesians 6:12-13 (TPT) if were not suited with the proper armor for the moral and spiritual battle we are engaged in, we are doomed to fail as many have already who ignore the spiritual dimension and somehow think their education or willpower can help them win the moral battle humanity is engaged in.

Mark 11:35 (TPT), When virtue is stored within, the hearts of good and upright people will produce good fruit. But when evil is hidden within, those who are evil will produce evil fruit. The Greek translation uses the phrase a valued treasure. A great life starts by storing the treasure of Gods character in our hearts. Out of that wellspring, we give forth to the others in our world. We are the keepers of the well. Dont allow the negative forces of the world to pollute or dilute the life-giving stream within. We can hand off bitterness or goodness, the choice is ours.

This book will give men the tools to rise above the darkness of their secret demons and give them the capacious ability to find the righteous high ground that is needed to be not only a good man but a great father and great husband.
